United Kingdom - London

dont think that is correct now that scotland and wales have their own governments, might want to split it up but have a bonus for controlling the queens interest:
england
scotland
ireland
wales
australia
(and other commonwealth countries)

wiki wrote:The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy comprising four constituent countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

so i guess UK will be counted for 1 country but the bonus for the Commonwealth Realm (15 countries) is a good idea.

world 2.1 is 900 px wide.

i will try to minimize side to side scrolling but vertical scrolling will surely exist.

lord knows how many people would have been deprived if world 2.0 got hamstrung like the other big maps. 35,000 games and counting, all because the mods made a mistake and let a great map through.

i hope it will 'slip through the cracks'

Otherwise good Idea I guess.

it's not confusing at all. it's trying to be a real representation of global politic military and economical relationship.

look you're from US, right? US has a good relationship with Canada, right? so you get a bonus for owning both, but the US has a bad relationship with some countries in the middle east so if you own one of those together with US you get a negative bonus. simple.

That would be a great way to incorporate military strength Bonuses...Which can be Regulated by adding More neutrals there than normal to control the balance at start of the game

i was thinking od adding territorial waters it would add even more depth to this map but that would also mean more teritories. thus making a larger map.

when i first thought about this i imagined it would take a whole shit load of space but then i thought of maybe altering the geography a little by shrinking some of the oceans to bring the continents together and using some of the remaining waters for little boxes with zoomed parts of the map.

Have Natural Resource bonuses like that in age of merchants

I know you may be against this since it wouldnt be geographical but you could tone down the size of the larger countries and do the reverse for the smaller countreis

if you dont like that idea for areas with lots of tiny countries you could Put zoomed in boxes of that area in dead zones on the map such as parts of the pacific indian atlantic oceans e.t.c.

the bonus system is already a bit strange if i add resources it would make it even more complicated and i don't want that.

the zoomed in boxes and perhaps some minor geography alteration (especially in the dead areas will be done)

I think id rather have the UK split into its 4 seperate regions. There still all separate countries only held together by a 300 year old union agreement. Which is currently under threat by the current Scottish government who are attempting independence. In a sense the queen doesn't really rule Scotland because england never really conquered scotland.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

I would expect that this is going to be the longest map project in Conquer Club history. World3.0 would be good for a change, but it is pretty complicated...

Ever since I first joined CC I've wanted a large world-accurate map with many hundreds of territories capable of supporting a large number of players and thus bringing real 'diplomacy', visable to all in the game chat, into the game.
I wanted to see a map with every state, every county, every prefecture and every region represented, such that games of RISK -ahem, CC- would become truly epic affairs lasting a few weeks and becoming really memorable events. 20-30 players battling it out to become the best warmonger and tactician or the most cunning and manipulative diplomat.

... of course, I soon became disillusioned and had to bring my dream down a few notches (quite a few, in fact!). With width limitations and gameplay restrictions on player limits ect (which obviously aren't a problem with the current maps), such a map would not be possible. In addition, I've noticed that there are some 'players' that simply would oppose this kind of thing for no better reason than to see things remain the same or just because they're that way inclined.
Still, I like to dream, even if it is an exercise in futility.

Any step forward -and DiM, your maps always seem to be a good, firm step forward- is a step in the right direction and this map is certainly that. I look forward to seeing this map idea evolve.

It'd be unplayable. Don't do it.

would you like to elaborate that thought?

why would it be unplayable?

that is badass.

i really hope this can be done. Along with increasing the amount of people to play in one game, that would be awesome.

Good Luck

Brilliant idea but I doubt it won't happen anytime soon. Size of small countries will be too small unless a zoom can be installed and I don't know whether current xml will allow for all your ideas. Still, push it and work on it. Someday it might be reality

the small countries will be represented in zoom boxes placed somewhere in the oceans for better space usage as for the xml all i want to do now is possible in the xml. incredibly hard to code and it will perhaps have the largest xml file but still possible

That being the case: good luck. If you were to start now I give you a year to complete it cos it will be mighty hard work. Perhaps you should bring some other experienced mapmakers on board to help - have some do graphics, others doing xml, etc

Im pritty sure DiMs more than capable of doing the graphics himself (being an experienced map maker) and there a team of champion coders around that ill probably be willing to lend a hand.

the graphics part is not a problem i can handle that. as for the coding i can do that on my own but i'll probably ask yeti_c for help again :)

the problem is the maps size. before i go on with it i want to get an opinion from the mods. it's no point spending my time working on it to abbandon it because i'm not allowed to make such a big map.

World 2.1 made it through. Didn't it exceed the guidelines? I think you should keep going on with this. I am 100% for it.
