Night Strike (Yellow) had taken a very valuable bonus, which I had to break. I had enough left over to break into the Tropics bonus too, leaving him just Mexico which hopefully Red will break.

Again I don't have enough to hold Canada, so I've taken it but left Blue the easy hit on Ottowa which he has been content to take the last couple of turns. I've left my armies in Florida because that should make it much harder for Yellow to retake Eastern USA, and potentially allows me to strike at the south of the map hard next turn.

With a mixed set, I could take Kenny out, and then hopefully break Yellow and Green. So I did that, but unfortunately Kenny's cards were rubbish and my luck gave out, so Green still has a very dangerous bonus. My forts are to reinforce my position in the north, but I am rather more exposed than I expected to be.

This has been ignored for a while, so here I go. I was really wanting to eliminate blue, but the way my armies were positioned, it was going to be hard, even with my 23 reinforcements. It then became impossible once he traded in cards. I decided to demolish teal and save myself enough to take over the Western USA soon. But I was smart and left myself buffers between his 10 and 7 armed territories so he can't retake them next turn (more than likely).

Well, I had little choice but to fight back against Yellow. After two turns I have got back to the position I was on about Turn 5, lol ... but Yellow is in a much stronger position; if I were a betting man it'd be him I'd be backing at this point.

Well guys after going through 4 pages I, as a newcomer to the site, am seriously impressed. I've seen some cool views on tactics and overall strategy. Kudo's to KennyC for creating the game and I would love to sign up for the next one. (I'm not going to comment on strategy since I haven't seen much f you in action and ofcourse because I am a total n00b when it comes to CC)

actually i decided to start one of my own same settings except no cards for a different look at strategy when no cards are in play instead of flat rate makes bonuses more important. so here it is. 767989 password strategy

Question

Post by Prankcall »

This is a very thoughtful thing of u guys to do first off...Next do u post immediaetley after ur turn so the other people no your intentions?
I mean if thats the case why do they let you do it? So if so is this truly a tutorial game...Or a id do this and act like i didnt read the post...Just wondering but i definetly want in the next game please...Maybe I can finally find reason in my own madness...

Yellow Winning

Post by Prankcall »

As soon as one see's the map they would assume sure yellow is gonna win...Id put my money on blue or Teal...Sorry green your in the middle and every1 knows how that ends...Yellow is bringing the fight to all 3 of them but its hard for him to reach blue without overextending his army (because of greens 10 up there)....So Id quietly watch blue to build play this sneaky and quite possibly pull out a win... Who knows though but think about it...Will all 3 of them not fight yellow when he went to war with all 3 of them...Watch for teal or blue ..Personally I llike blue...Yellow is getting an awful lot of armies just for territories however maybe i spoke to soon...we shall see

I tend to post immediately after making my turn; it's a strategy explanation game so it's a bit unsportsmanlike not to explain your strategy imo  . There hasn't been a lot of strategy beyond the immediately obvious for a few rounds though – apart from Night Strike's attack on me which I am still recovering from, everyone has been pretty cagey.

My overall strategy is still the same: try to take Canada and wipe Blue from French Canada to obtain enough bonuses to make me very difficult to beat. However not once have I been in a position to hold Canada or make a serious strike at Blue, so like everyone else I am holding onto my position. It could be a long game

I don't necessarily mention my complete strategy until maybe a turn after. I did post about knocking out teal b/c that was a big swing in the game. My last turn, I used all my armies to take out green's threat at my border and break his bonus. I honestly don't know how to position myself to win.

With teal's jump on blue a couple turns ago, I had a pretty easy opportunity to knock down teal again. I feel that I'm in a very strong position now, even if blue deadbeats.

I'm just fighting a defensive battle against Yellow (Night Strike) at the minute. I'm hoping Green can help me because Yellow is significantly stronger than me.

Blue's gone. But now I hope I'm not too thin.

Bonuses are the key at this point, so I sacrificed a few men to break Western USA, and reclaim French Canada, which will hopefully cost Yellow several armies to reclaim/rebreak. I'm still weaker than him though, so I'm relying on Green to help me and not Yellow :P. This game has the potential to become a three-way standoff and last a long time.

All I'm going to say is that I didn't like your move and I really don't want a stalemate.

Well, Yellow has forced the issue be removing Green, so now it's 1v1. If I didn't stretch myself this turn to weaken Yellow, I'd lose for sure, so I have broken all his bonuses in the hope that that will keep his 5 card set from doing too much damage.

I saw an opportunity to eliminate green, so I decided to jump on it. I couldn't really risk green trading in a set (especially mixed that he had) because he probably would have come after me and teal would have won. My dice were even better than I had planned, so that did help me put up some defenses.

As for teal, he crippled me, but I had a mixed set and now I don't have to fear cards for a few turns.

Unfortunately, Night has done very well last turn and the dice turned against my attempt to break most of his bonuses again, so I think he will kill me off quite quickly now.
