The following poem is the prelude to this new map below in its infancy.
Please read the poem as background to the map. I'd like to include the poem in the map but space does not allow it.

Concept.
This new version 5 map is a combination of style of attack. It uses the rivers as borders between terrs rather than impassables.
While it is very linear i.e. upa dna down, there are attached POW camps to the rail sections plus a bridge to conquer for bonuses.

Conquer the entire map for a win.

Original Version 1.

I like it. Can you capture the bridge for a win? On the map it says you can but above it it says that you need to capture everything to win?

That is what I was wondering.

I like the map but the tree on the right makes the map seem cramped

gimil....(i see you've stolen all the sherbert)....don't u mean that the graphics aren't as good as my usual standard...to which i can reply this is just a preliminary map and concept, and i wanted to see what the reaction would be like; i have to convert all those bodies in the river to rocks, and tidy up the trees. i am so sorry that i let u down with the standards. OMG get over it please.!

OK...gimil....nice joke, but please can we stop all the sherbert business, and get back to topic, in this thread and every other one. I told you before, creative energy is my "juice". This map is yet another graphic challenge.

Thanks tim02 for commenting....all the graphics are "up for grabs" and the borders will be attended to, don't worry.
as for how i find the time...i just do, if you're into computer graphics and drawing, you'll make the time....it's all a challenge.

Small change to game plan on advice from DiM....bridge will not start as neutral....there will be a bonus for the bridge probably with some other territory.

Sorry for the misunderstanding I think tim02....when i said all the graphics are 'Up for grabs' I meant that they are all going to be altered, and have much work to be done one them. :)

isn't every map's objective to conquer the entire map? I don't see the need to express that here. (I do realize that objectives will be (or maybe are currently?) part of the XML capabilities).

well yes and no edbeard.
apparently on my battle for australia, because of the layout of the neutrals, one can finish a game without taking all the terts.
Also there is a new xml feature which if implemented will require only certain terrritories to be claimed and you've won the map (from my understanding)
I did have conquering the bridge there originally but changed it after this was brought ot my attention, so for now it's conquer the entire map.

well, there can be neutrals in any game honestly. Uneven number of territories divided by players, or a 1v1 game. anytime you eliminate someone with neutrals still around, you win. I just don't see the point of adding that bit of text, when every other map works the same way.

I just think that describing objectives should be left for the maps when there is a unique objective. Like we both said, there is or will be an XML feature for this, so those maps need to detail the objective. This is just like any other map to my understanding, so there is no reason I can see as to why it is needed. But, it's your map and if you think it works.
