Quick update, renamed Ribejeto to Centro in the legend, I couldn't find Ribejeto anywhere, but Centro in real life is Leiria, Coimbra and Guarda (and a few other territories not on this map).

Gameplay change: I just checked a map of Portugal, and Guarda now borders Bragança.

Graphical change: Top left and bottom right corners are lightened.

Misc. Changes: Various borders adjusted for even more accuracy. As I stated before, Inkscape does not like accents for some reason, so I've had to manually adjust them. I shrunk them so they don't stick out as much.

Things to change: The top of the coin is cut off.

The large map is in the making. Considering it is now 3:30 a.m. where I am (too addicted to CC), I will now take a well deserved break.

Glad to see you back working on this Bad Speler. Overall it's a nice looking map, but there's just something that's not sitting right with me. I'm not quite sure what it is. Perhaps the objects on the map... the mountains, rivers and bridges. I'm not sure they suit the map overly well.

Perhaps see if you can give some depth to the rivers, make them look sunken a little. Consider reducing the width of them as well. The bridges and mountains are ok, but there's just something about them. Sorry for being so vague... I'm just not sure on the right approach.

Also, for me at least, the pink numbers in Castilla y Leon kind of blend with the background. You could try adjusting the army shadow transparency a touch.

Minor update:

- Tried to make rivers fit in with the map a bit more by darkening them.
- Reduced transparency in Castlla y Leon army shadows.
- Fixed the cut off coin

Don't call the alligator, big mouth until you have crossed the river.

Could you put some blue armies on Catalonia and green armies on Alentejo so that we can see how the contrast looks?

At this point, the contrast that is most difficult for me to make out is, weirdly enough, the green on Castille and Leon. Is anyone else having this problem? Maybe it's just my eyes.

Keyogi mentioned that problem with purple armies in Castilla y Leon. I'll reduce the transparency even more, and get the numbers with the correct colour in the places you said.

Much better. Everything is much clearer now, and the blues and greens look fine.

I've got to say, I don't like the Spanish seal up in the corner, if for no other reason than... Where's Portugal's?, Andorra's?

I've replaced the coin graphic with the coats of arms from the 3 countries. I've also had to remove the north pointing symbol.

A couple of little suggestions.

I've mentioned the rivers before and I still think they're too thick. Up in the North-West they're even contributing to the clutter.

Perhaps add a slight glow or outline to the text help it stand out from the borders and maybe a little blur on the territory borders would help.

I'll try, im not sure how successful i'll be because so far its been made using inkscape. I'll have to convert it to Adobe Illustrator format to do that.

I really like the map so far. What I like most about your maps is they are simple, yet really fun to play. Arctic map is great and it's pretty simple & straight-forward.

The one thing that bugs me about this map is the rivers. It's been mentioned above to try and give them some depth. It may be more than that though. They look like you took a paint brush at 8 pixels wide and just drew them in. I think if you try and thin out the ends like real rivers then it would look a lot better.

Here's an old abandoned map I started of Charleston, South Carolina (USA). It is basically islands on the coast and full of rivers. See how beveled that river out in the center? Anyway - you obviously don't need a graphic lesson - I'm just trying to show you a different style. Good Luck & I can't wait to play!

It's getting there, just having problems transfering it from inkscape to illustrator.

probably not the most inteligent remark.

I have seen The Read Area being called "Tras os Montes" and "Ribatejo" and know is called "Centro".

It´s a hard decision because there is no corect answer to this kind of division, the "Alentejo" is not also only "Alentejo" its "Alentejo and Algarve".

Algarve was one Kingdowm at some part, (tthe Kings of Portugal were called King of Portugal and Kingdom of Algarve)

So what about just put "Norte Portugal" in the place of "Centro" and South Portugal" in place of "Alentejo"?

Sorry if it was already talked about.
