Glad to see wicked isn't for this idea.
I was worried when it was in the "to-do" list. I hope this means they have some genius idea planned that will stop people from purposely missing turns, while not harming people whose lives get in the way.
Something amazing that none of us could have ever thought of no doubt.
Is this whats going on?

I've told lack from the beginning I do not like this idea. I've ramped up my efforts since it was scheduled for an upcoming update. Basically, if it gets implemented, when you miss a turn, you'll pretty much lose the game, ergo I'm lobbying hard against it.
We don't have THE answer, so if anyone has any bright ideas, please share them. Also, I know lack's looking at the poll results, so get all your friends in here to vote.
What if you only got multiplied armies for the first missed turn? That still wouldn't help freestyle play though, they almost need their own set of rules.

If you don't pay attention or gamble that the person will be auto-kicked, that's your perogative but you are taking on a risk.
I think it is fair as is. Some members are busy in real life and can't come to a computer every single day. Getting the armies you missed encourages people to come back and continue playing their game.
Another nice quote I ran across.

It's not completely ridiculous.
1.Conquer Club allows people to miss up to 2 turns before getting kicked out because some people in Conquer Club does not use or reach the computer every 24 hours.
2.It is also designed for strategy. For example, in a doubles game teammate#1 fights to protects teammate#2 that missed two turns, but then teammate#2 shows up in the third round to get his/her armies muliplied by 3(which is usually enough to start owning or counter-attacking) and starts rampaging through the map.

I could see eliminating the missed turn armies from a no card game since there would be no penalty for dead beating a turn to get a surprise mass attack in.
Missing turns in a card game means losing the advantage of bonus troops.
Of course if there was a skip turn option that allowed you voluntarily do the same then that would allow the strategy of mass attack without penalizing all the other players with having to wait out the deadbeat turn.
I'd also boot anybody that misses the first two turns of the game.

I still think that if you miss a turn - tough shit. You shouldnt get anything for it.
The reasons that I think so is:
1. Too many use it because they can.
2. If you have an power outage or something else like that - go to an internet cafe if this game is so important!
3. The game is not fun when you have to wait for every slow f*ck.
Conclusion: If the reward is taken away more people will take their turn in time and so speed up the game.
The gain of faster games is worth more than the loss of an occational game here or there if you couldn't make your move.
Why does some people not see this?

I was just thinking that a player should be kicked out if he/she misses a turn only in 2 player games, since it's usually fast in 1 on 1s'.

How about getting MIA armies at the end of a turn?
I apologize if this has already been round as I got tired of reading forums after the first couple pages.
But, how would it be if one got their extra armies for being a complete dead beat jackass at the end of their turn.
Regardless of how stupid a strategy it is people still try it, I was in a game where one guy did nothing but go for the maximum multiplier.
It's offensive and I can't condone such a selfish waste of time as a 'strategy', but people do disappear for legitimate reasons, which is why I think it would be a fair compromise if there was a special phase at the end of the round for placing armies earned in previous turns.
It would blow out the surprise factor and would remove the unfortunate temptation felt by our more simple minded members, while still being fair to people with legitimate reasons.

Wow, I think Brahms just had the greatest idea ever! This guys a genius. I was about to suggest something like getting a 2/3 multiplier, but this is a much better idea.
Its basically so you can't use it as strategy to get a surprise attack. You still get all your armies back, but you can only use them for defense at the end of your turn. So you aren't screwed over just because you missed one turn. But there is no advantage to missing a turn.
Maybe start a new topic with this idea so people can see it. Definitely the greatest solution to the missing turns problem I have ever seen.

well ermm..
i don't really know..
it's the situation you're in that matters,
if you're deadbeating : you shouldn't get them multiplied.
if you really missed a turn(sleeping or any other reason) then you should get them multiplied..
It's a diffictult question to answer.
Missed turns solution.
Edit: In Summary: You still get the extra armies from your missed turns, but cannot place them until the end of your turn.
Ok, so I know Lacks already got a "to-do" for this issue, but noone really knows what he is planning so I wanted to put this out there.
This was suggested by brahms here:
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1711&start=69
And I just wanted to make sure everyone could see it since it was hidden in the end of a really long thread that I don't think anyone was reading anymore.
If Lack wouldn't mind programming this, I think everyone would be happy with this solution, because it would get rid of the advantage of purposely missing turns, but doesn't put you at a horrible disadvantage if you do miss a turn.
The idea was all Brahms, I'm just spreading the word.
