I don't see why Anglia has such a big bonus -- It has just as many borders as Wales. Its bonus is greater than the number of countries that it contains.

... yeah.....

.... Methinks I might give up on this one. Can't build a consensus on anything - borders, bonuses, etc... Too many diverging opinions and no middle ground (no solutions).... which means no fun for anybody, eh.

... Except for me - it was fun to make.

... What shall I make next? Something more playable . . .

your never going to be able to please everyone with a map. just make it the way you feel it should be made.

At some point you have to realize you can't please everyone. Go with your guts, if its terrible its always possible to change it. Its impossible to make a really good balanced map without playing on it a bit, cause its very complex, changing the bonus of one continent can affect another. Do it with what you think is best. What people say here is suggestion, you don't have to do everything they say.

... OK. Thank you all for the confidence-building comments!

... This is it, then. I'm going with the idea that some folks just won't like it, or some will find faults with it, and that's fine. Who knows? It may be total crap to play an actual game on - time will tell.

... But this is my last edit. You might notice:

1. The mountains blocking Gwent from attack by armies in Shropshire have been replaced by the New Forest. It's not been labeled as such, but that's what it is, and it blocks attacks in both directions.

2. Suffolk and Norfolk are gone - combined into the single territory of East Anglia. And so the Isle of Wight has been added in the south.

3. I pixelated the mountains just a bit more to make them stand out. Hope it looks a little better.

4. Cross-Seas attack routes have been modified slightly (as pertaining to Wales).

... Now, I really DO wish to get a general consensus on Continent Bonuses. SuperMarcol, Marvaddin, others, help me out. This IS the final draft, so go with this when you make your estimations please, rather than putting forth editing recommendations (though such were quite helpful til now - I've just not the time to do much more).

... And when that's done.... XML.... (??!!). Anybody who knows how to work with that, your help will be most appreciated!

... Cheers!

dude you can't stop now! It's a beautiful looking map, don'tbe discouraged by everyone' crazy opinions. Just go with your instincts and if it doesn't end up playing well you fiddle with it some more.

Well, let me see...

Continent - # countries - # border countries - # routes from other conts

South England - 11 - 5 - 5 ; bonus 7 (or 8...)

North England - 7 - 3 - 5 ; bonus 4 (or 5)

Lands End - 4 - 1 - 2 ; bonus 2 (surely)

Wales - 5 - 3 - 3 ; bonus 3 (surely)

Ireland - 7 - 3 - 3 ; bonus 4 (or 5)

Scotland - 8 - 3 - 5 ; bonus 5 (or 6)

ps: one of Ireland mountains is pretty different, isnt it?
pps: Congratulations for the great job!!

... And, that's it! Thanks for all the help, guys!

... Now... I gotta start this all over again, making the small version.... Doesn't have to be identical, does it? I mean, somebody suggested abbreviations for the longer territory names. Some of those are going to be hard to fit with a smaller image. I mean, "Northumberland" ... "Lincolnshire"...

Yeah, its a great map. Congratulations.

I suggest you cut of those spaces at right side of the map, and even at the left side (after you replace the legend a bit to the right).
Will you still put a little background for the number?

Well, the small version should be the same, but its a problem sometimes. Try not abreviate the names, but if you dont find another way... Because of this I suggest all map makers begin by the small version. After that, ther big version is a brise (I did it  ).

Oh, and great news: maps of Brazil, Canada and Europe are now avaliable to play. I cant wait to test my map.

... The small map version is a bit different than the large.... For one, I stretched it, to give me more room to type in territory names, and in simple, single-color fonts.

... Lost some of the decoration as well. I couldn't get it to look right in this small version (The helm & shield graphic).

... Playable? Opinions are welcome! Cheers!

I always use small version, and I didnt like your small version very much... I dont mind about scroll down, its always necessary. So, there is no reason for this distortion, I think. I know, you need to write the names, but then dont reduce that much the another dimension, please. Scroll down is not a problem.

My opinion only, dont become angry, friend...

... hell, why would I get angry? Thanks for the input.

... I'll mess with it a bit and see if I can't clean it up.
