Using a different language to make alliances
This should be considered cheating as they are in essence not communicating their alliances to all the players if everyone does not understand their language. Check out game #7670

Well, max, after reading your meaningful post I have to say that you are correct. However you do not seem to grasp the idea behind language.
Language is there to make it possible for people to communicate. This is why we seek to find a common ground so we can all understand eachother. Through the years man has found English, French and Spanish to be the languages used by most people. Not in numbers, but in demographics. Of these three English is the most common, and well known. Thus we should use english aswell.
Seeing as you are only a troll (and can hardly write/understand English), I really shouldn't write this, but you are also a child. Being a child you are more open to new ideas and ways of thinking.
Think, max. Think!

... Max, The People's Republic of China has more people with computers than any other nation on the planet (it's a matter of sheer numbers - population). I go there often, I'm not just talking out my arse here.
... CC is unknown there as of now. But, if it comes to be known, we may soon see hundreds of new players coming in here from the PRC.
... I'm in Japan at the moment, and I've been trying to introduce CC to a few people here. One small problem is that the chat board does not support Asian alphabets. When you type something in, you get this:
.... 意味分からない。 ..... and that's not helpful.
... Lack is a busy man. Maybe he'll get to this point after he's ironed out all his other stuff.

actually, english is practicaly the official language of the world. pretty much all america speaks english, most South america speaks english, some africans speak english, definately a lot of europeans speak english, Australians speak english, over half of the Asians speak english, and even the scientists in Antarctica speak english!IF WE SHOULD USE ANY LANGUAGE IT SHOULD BE CHINESE MANDARIN AS IT THE MOST COMMON LANGUAGE
Hippi's rule!
speaking in other languages
you can make secret alliances with a team member with: messenger e-mail private message etc...
so prohibiting to speak in other languages wouldn't be useful

not in doubles game. Also not everyone is having secret alliances with people they know. I'm way more interested in beating the crap of my friends in risk than havnig an alliance with them to take out another guy. But thats just me. So other languages in double games should definetly allowed. As for single games, I think it should be allowed, you can't restrict the language that is spoken, but it shouldn't be an excuse as to say that you did tell about your alliance, you can't expect everyone to speak your language. So I think it is allowed, but not an acceptable way to post your alliances. Just say it in english afterwards for everyone.
