Tie-Breakers
I'm not sure that I like the Goals For/Goals Against Tie-Breaker (at least not as the first level).
What this does is give an advantage to newer players (like myself). Newer players don't have high rankings - therefore we don't give/lose large point totals in our matches.
Older players either win and barely get anything or lose large chunks of points. As for older players with low ranks, they either won't win enough earn the big point bonuses OR they are much better 1 v 1 strategists than overall players. This is fine.
I think the tie-breakers should be as follows (If at any point a team is eliminated - you take the remaining teams and start over or declare a winner):
To determine a Division Winner:
1. Head To Head
2. Division Record
3. Conference Record
NOTE: 4 Through 7 are basically equal for me, I just have slight preferences
4. Road Wins (You NEED Road Wins during the Playoffs)
5. Goals For (You won against people you "weren't supposed to" - although this rewards early season victories more, as your rank is lower then)
6. Goals Against (You didn't lose to people you "weren't supposed to" - although this penalizes early season losses more, as their ranks were lower then)
7. Home Wins (You PICKED your map - you gotta be able to defend it)
8. Coin Flip/Spidey's decision/elimination game(s)
Use the same matrix to determine Conference Seeding (except the division record thing).
I guess whichever team wins the All-Star Game determines home ice in the Stanley Cup Finals?

He said we didn't NEED to, not that we shouldn't
Besides, I've posted all my other results.

Coin flip, are you joking? i would refuse to accept that...a head to head match sounds like the best idea

Sorry for slowing down the games, I shall be quick when i return next friday

lostatlimbo: I will be trying to add more games tomorrow, or i should say today as it is Sunday here now, also 2 of the 3 teams that you mentioned are non-prmium members and they are trying to keep up with us premiums, but one of them will be getting turfed and one of our reserves will be taking their place.
As for the ties at the end of the year. I will try to use the same format as the NHL does for tie-breakers, but as we all know that may or may not work that well here. I realize the GA/GF might be a little skewed, so we may not go with that. I think that is a hurdle we will look more closely at later on in the season. I hope that you are all having fun so far and I will have an updated stats page later this weekend. I hope.

Spidey I'm really impressed. Making gam after game and sending pm after pm, not to mention tracking down no-shows, keeping stats, and answering questions, can be a hell of a lot of work. At the moment I'm 6-3 (despite only ever having played 1 1 vs 1 game and losing) and having tons of fun with this. Keep it up!
