Do these ACTUALLY work then?

Post by Phobia »

Free Giveaway Sites

I can't help but notice them. They claim to go give you free consoles, ipods, TVs, everything if you just do a few simple steps. Well, they claim to be simple steps, but they are much harder than one might think.

In case you don't know, the majority have this system -

1) Sign Up
2) Complete an offer(s)
3) Refer friends to do the same

So, basically you sign up to that website (simple enough), then complete an offer, like a free trial (simple), then you get friends to sign up AND get them to complete and offer (wtf?).

First off, it's hard enough to convince one friend that these systems work, let alone 13 for a free PS3!
Then, if they do complete an offer, they will probably want to get 13 friends to sign up so they can get a freebie. Eventually we are gonna run out of friends!

So do these actually work then? Probably, as I've seen loads of blogs and videos of people getting their free stuff. Well there's only one way to find out - http://NextGen.Giveaway.co.uk/index.php?referral=212108 ;) (btw, this is UK website so only UK users will probably only be able to join and complete offers)

Anyone tried this before? Has it been successful? Please post and say, I want a piece of the action! 8)

They do. A classmate of mine won a laptop with an evaluation version of Vista and a 40" TV with it.

I have no idea how he managed to convince people to waste their lives referring him though.

Nice. But I know, how do I convince people to refer me...there's gotta be a large community forum out there that does this kind of thing, people referring in exchange for references...

i think all them sites are mailing list collectors .....
all the information you give goes into mailing lists they can sell for a very good price to their customers ...
most of them are plain rubbish but maybe 1 or 2 might actually give something in return .....
Always look on the bright side of life !!

My friend got a 1st Generation iPod this way... years ago... back when they seemed even sketchier because they were still a rather new concept. I participated in his crusade, though. No ill effects.

Lol of course, my real friends don't believe it as well! But I will prove everyone wrong, watch this space ;)

Unfortunately many people try to make 13 people up, but they catch them out, just like multis on this website lol

The problem medefe, is that once you get 13 friends that refer, each friend has to find 13 other friends, because all the friends have already signed up and completed an offer so they can't possibly do it again (it's hard to explain, you probably didn't understand that lol :P)

Look, I'll help you out, but I want my cut.

You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

lol ok, well to complete one referal is a lot harder than it seems, you need to complete an offer as well as signing up. So only do it if you really want to!
If you don't want to spend anything on completing an offer, try the LoveFilm offer. It's a free trial for two weeks, so you can rent DVD's for free for two weeks, and then just cancel the suscription. A nice little tip if you ever wanted an completely free PS3 :P

Lol yeah i expected that, that's why it's so hard to get 13 referals, 1) most believe it's a scam 2) even if you do believe it's not a scam, can they be bothered with the hassle? :P
