you should have tried to put more poll options in, therefore i voted that this poll sucks. Resident Evil is good, but I play mostly racing games.

I disagree. Mortal Kombat is a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever.

Halo 2 shouldn't even be on that list because 1) It's a sequel and 2) It's just a basic FPS with pretty graphics and a decent multiplayer engine.

The best video game would have to be the most innovative, engaging, and genre-defining as well as transforming game. Some spring to mind, Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Metroid, Myst, Super Smash Bros., and even Herzog Zwei. These were all genre-busting, landmark games that each changed the world of gaming in their own simple way.

However, for a game that left an indelible mark on the world of modern gaming, I vote Goldeneye for the N64. Without Goldeneye there would be no Halo. It was THE preeminent FPS multiplayer experience, not to mention the best game to ever carry the James Bond movie license. It was one of the rare exceptions to the rule that says that all games based on movies suck. It had 4-player deathmatches, one of the most extensive arsenals, and some of the most groundbreaking level design of any game of its day. Ask any person old enough to remember the N64 what their favorite multiplayer games were and Goldeneye will more than likely be on every one of their lists.
Initiate discovery! Fire the Machines! Throw the switch Igor! THROW THE F***ING SWITCH!

^ My vote.

My top three games, would probably all come from the N64. Such a brilliant innovative console.

Goldeneye, Mario 64 and Zelda.

Although Mario 3 might possibly sneak in... Oh and Civilisation 2...

Hmm...

Mario or Zelda(Link) are quite common, and don't have the same personality.

I realize that my poll sucks, but it was my first one. Plus now you can state your favorite video game if it isn't on there
