Prevent non-players from commenting on games they're not playing
Self-explanatory. I'm not sure why it's actually possible to begin with. Game chat should be limited to participants only.

It's not fun to be distracted or abused by someone who isn't a teammate though.

what game number did this happen in?Apatheist wrote: Sat Dec 06, 2025 5:29 am It's not fun to be distracted or abused by someone who isn't a teammate though.

catstevens: you are now an honorary American TG...Congrats
Re: Prevent non-players from commenting on games they're not playing
It didn't (as far as I know). Someone posted a link to a game, I clicked on it out of curiosity, and saw that someone else had been posting comments, telling them they were going to lose. It may have been friendly banter by someone they knew, I don't know; I just thought it might be useful to prevent any abuse happening before it starts. In other online game sites in which I play, it's only the participants in a game who can post comments.

You are calling socializing a form of abuse in a game that has a chat in the games kinda for that reason.
It doesnt make sense.
I talk to friends in their own games all the time.
And use to when i played 15 or more years ago always had people talking to me in the games i had going.
But, its not on the map, and not in your actions area, so unless I'm misunderstanding what you are saying somehow I'm not seeing how it could even be a distraction.
Besides, if I'm playing a speed game and miss a turn because I'm talking to a friend its my own fault and shouldnt bother my opponent or anyone else who may be watching.
If you are actually being verbally abused, now thats a way different story. But, since I just wasted sooooooo much time clicking on all your games just to check, that never happened to you. So I wouldnt even be sure why you would even bring that up?
Back in the day we had the Flame Wars thread, but thats before everyone lost their backbones.
Sorry mods, had to chime in on this. If I'm in the wrong I accept my punishment.
But only from Gee, wait, no, Ice.. Crap, you both can handle me if need be. dang.

Thank goodness we have people like you looking to eradicate problems before they even exists... In all my years here, i have never seen an official complaint, a C&A case or even a comment in Global Chat. But hey, thank you for keeping all of us from something that you THINK may happen... Seriously... Suck it up, Cupcake... The black jesus has spoken..-Jesus noir

You're not funny. If you think a childish reaction and narcissistic macho homophobia are the right way to deal with a new joiner who just made a simple suggestion, then perhaps you have the answer to the question posed in another thread - why CC is declining.
Thank you to gcwca for your reasonable answer. If people don't want it, fine. It was just an idea based on what I've seen elsewhere.

Re: Let's solve a problem that doesn't exist, because I am easily offended by what COULD occur in game chat.
Listen, Cupcake... Suck. It. Up. Please site all of these other sites where this is standard practice. Please list where you have seen this amazing policy that creates a far more positive atmosphere than what we have here on CC. I'm waiting... You can't even find a real problem here! Creating a solution to a non-existent problem is absolutely ridiculous. The black jesus has pushed your buttons with ease and you are not worthy of my beratement... The black jesus has spoken...-Jesus noir
p.s.-How can the founder and lead moderator of the #1 global gay forum for black males be a homophobe? You need to do your research, Percy...

Re: Prevent non-players from commenting on games they're not playing
I'm sure it won't surprise anyone to know that he has gone into all my games and added a comment. Very mature - not. Use of the term cupcake this way is homophobic. Referring to yourself in the third person is narcissistic. Disparaging newcomers who make a simple suggestion is not the way to encourage new members.

Still waiting on those fictional numbers... The black jesus is a patient deity... The black jesus has spoken...-Jesus noir
P.s.-As a gesture of good will, I have given you the BJ dice hack for the next 72 hours. Team CC still can't find the code, even after shutting down the entire site to scour all the coding for my dick hack... Enjoy the amazing dice and welcome to CC...

Your childish behaviour has ensured that this potential member will not be joining. Well done for depriving the site of income. I hope you continue to enjoy defining your personality by your prowess in a kid's board game.
Re: Prevent non-players from commenting on games they're not playing
I was also going to suggest "Block external chat" as a set-up option, but since I won't be sticking around, this is no longer my concern, so please consider it case closed.

Re: Prevent non-Cajones having players from joining the site
You don't have the CAJONES for this site, if this has run you off!! Thank goodness I was able to weed you out. The black jesus has spoken...-Bj
P.s.-nice double post, Cupcake.
P.p.s.-You keep joining games. You can't even quit well.

Re: Prevent non-players from commenting on games they're not playing
I'm sure the mods and site owners are very pleased with your ability to scare off potential new members. Normally I'd stick around and expose the sort of person you are, but it seems they're very well aware already. Anyway, thanks to the mods for reaching out, the advice about foeing, and the premium gift to encourage me to stay - very much appreciated.

Re: Prevent cupcakes from possibly being offended
Please, do go on... All very valid, lucid and salient points... I like the cut of your discourse... Please continue, I believe you are beginning to sway the black jesus into alignment with your thought processes... The black jesus has waffled...-Jesus noir
