June 17 Bracket Update
Congrats to Josko for advancing. He tried to make it interesting by missing turns again but alas.
And so, we have a rematch in kingm vs josko.ri in the Lower Bracket Finals. Winner faces prismsaber for the Trophy.
Good luck fellas.

Just a reminder for Kingm and anyone following the tournament: if Kingm wins the best of 7, we will play a repeat best of 7 because this is a double elimination tournament and I haven't managed to lose just yet. I need to defeat Kingm only once to win. If a repeat best of 7 becomes necessary, we will roll a new set of 7 maps.
Grand Finals Maps
Madagascar (2)
Australia (3)
Brazil (2)
Charleston (4)
Europe (4)
Macedonia (2)
Africa (3)
I'll make the games some time today.

Re: Classic-Style Polymorphic Slugfest (Grand Finals)
I thought it started out as a close match but it ended up a bloodbath. Congrats to Kingm for forcing a decisive final best of 7.
I'll roll the last group of maps before the end of the day.

Re: Classic-Style Polymorphic Slugfest (WINNER: prismsaber)
Tournament Completed
Organizer: prismsaber
Winner: prismsaber
Total Games Played: 210
Total Length of Tournament: 138 days. March 17 2025 to August 2 2025.
Some thoughts:
It's a bit cringe (as the kids say) for the organizer to win so sorry about that.
Thanks to all for playing.
I had as much fun running the tournament as playing it (mainly because playing Kingm 21 freakin times was quite stressful down the stretch). I decided to run my own tournament because I wasn't seeing any tournies that had my preferred settings (simple maps in team or polymorphic format). I remember this being an issue even way back 15 years ago when I was more active.
I think double elimination gets you a real battle-tested winner, but the downside is there is a fair amount of downtime for those in the Upper Bracket. They can end up waiting around for weeks for their next matchup. I'll probably try running some single elim tournaments next. I also have a sort of grand idea for a round robin style tournament but that will wait til' later.
