Regular season -- 162 games
Division play -- 16 games against each division foe -- 64 total games
These will be one map = one game (see scoring graphic below, win the map, win the game)
League play* -- 12 games against the other 5 teams in your league -- 60 games.
Interleague play* -- 4 games against 8 teams from the other league, 3 games vs. 2 teams -- 38 total games
For Out-of-Division play one map = one series.
For these matchups one map will decide how many runs you score over the course of the series.
Random.org will be used to divide up those runs into individual games.
Example:
The Dodgers beat the Yankees in 8 rounds for a 4-game series.
Dodgers total 24 runs, and Yankees total 12 runs for those four games.
For scoring...
I'll use random.org and start with the team with fewest runs.
Random.org 0-12 ... generates 10 -- Yankees 10 runs in Game 1
Random.org 0-2 (remaining runs) generates 1 -- Yankees 1 run in Game 2
Random.org 0-1 (remaining run) generates 0 -- Yankees 0 runs in Game 3
Remaining runs is 1 -- Yankees 1 run in Game 4.
Same process for the team with the most runs.
random.org 0-24 ... generates 7 -- Dodgers 7 runs in Game 1
random.org 0-17 (remaining runs) generates 6 -- Dodgers 6 runs in Game 2
random.org 0-11 (remaining runs) generates 1 -- Dodgers 1 run in Game 3
Remaining runs is 10 -- Dodgers 10 runs in Game 4
Series results (Dodgers win 3 out of 4 in series)
Game 1. Yankees win 10-7
Game 2. Dodgers win 6-1

*If the winning side draws a huge number, that number will be cut in half (if that is still enough for the win), so that we keep realistic scores and the winning side gets to carry over more runs.
*If a score is tied, then random.org will be used to determine who gets the winning run in extra innings.

These will follow the same format as the real MLB.
Two Division winners advance in each league, along with four wildcards teams in each league.
That makes a total of 12 playoff teams for the full playoffs.
Game play will be expanded with each playoff game will be a 3-map scoring system. Each map representing a three-inning stretch of the game. (see scoring box).
There are also two postseason power-ups that teams can gain with regular season accomplishments.
CLUTCH HITTER: Win your division to get this one. This gives you a bonus run in the 9th inning of any postseason HOME game in which your team faces elimination.
GOLD GLOVE: Finish in the top three in the league in shutouts to get this one. This prevents your opponent from counting its spoils in the postseason. Spoils are used as the first tiebreaker for extra inning games in the postseason.

7-game series with higher seed having home field advantage in a 2-3-2 format
World Series
7-game series with best regular season record getting home field advantage in a 2-3-2 format.
