You ConfedSS, like Trump, use too many hyperboles and not enough FACTS. I can afford gas and food, and so can my neighbors. Only one person in my immediate neighborhood goes to the Food Pantry to receive Free Food. And two of us, including myself, volunteer there to help others.

Now, is gasoline too expensive and more so than under Trump? Yes, BUT the PRICE is down recently, (due to the change to the winter blends, mostly). Trump did not make his case well enough. And when asked "If you are better off now than 4 years ago?" Kamala did NOT answer it and Trump failed to call her on that Failure. Instead, he launches into hyperboles and his stump speech lines and does not respond with Facts. AND he starts blaming SOME of that on Illegal IMMIGRATION, again with hyperboles to that question and issues on the FIRST question posed.

I basically agree with Ken-t on most of these points. However, I would say that Trump is not a SAINT; his "goodness" is a moral and subjective matter. There is no real Bad or Good in many such matters and persons. No one is truly Good or truly Evil, imo.

Many of our politicians (especially U.S. Presidents) had faults, and often MANY faults. JFK was a womanizer and rather reckless, as an example. Reagan likely believed in astrology and showed mental decline into his second term. Iran-Contra is a stain on his legacy, too. Both had more faults, but these come to me quickly without more reflection.)

I have posted previously that Trump is viewed by many of his most ardent and rabid fans as a Savior, and if elected, many will be severely disappointed.

Totally. I believe this is more of a religious/non-religious thing. Religion favors absolute morality and non-religion favors subjective morality. That is a whole other discussion.

This is the meat of what I was getting at in the other thread with the morality meter. If they all have personal faults/sin/evils and you can't really measure which one is morally worse, then you have to cancel that out and use something else as the basis for your decision making. So, while it is fair to say Trump/Biden/Harris/Vance/Walz irks me more than the other, there really isn't a point to throwing morality shade into the argument.

They all have lied. Trump is a conman and fraudster. How is that different from Harris changing her policies every two days? We are pretty screwed no matter what. But I do believe Harris/Walz would generally lead us far more left as a country and I think that is a bad thing. Right now the left wants to do away with Free Speech and any part of the Constitution they don't like. The right has all kinds of problems, but I think freedom of speech is more important than any of those issues.

If you aren't allowed to talk and discuss anything, then you have no power as a citizen. All of our other powers have been usurped by the government. We aren't supposed to be double taxed, but have you ever sold a car? Why are you tax on income and the purchase of goods? Etc. There are a whole slew of things the government is doing to us that we should be focused on stopping and reverting before we worry about other things.

But to keep this on topic, sorry, Trump did not do himself any favors in the debate. I don't think people are changing their mind. I feel like there are very few who would change their mind even if either candidate claimed to be the devil. I do think that Harris didn't damage herself though like people were thinking she would.

This is a quote from her 2020 debate. I agree with that statement 100%. The only problem I have is that she laughed about smoking pot (admitted she did smoke and inhale, which was funny), but while she was Attorney General she allowed people to be prosecuted for this. If she was concerned about justice at every level she would have turned herself in.

What about justice for Kevin Cooper? I won't post all of the details here, but she had her hand in that.

What about her lack of condemnation for Jussie Smollett? At first she said it was a modern day lynching, regarding Jussie. Which if what happened was true, then I would agree. So, no real problem with that statement. But that was a very strong condemnation on the action. Then she says it is disappointing when the issue was proved to be a hoax. But she didn't really call out the lack of justice. Which the chief of police and the mayor did.

When I looked into it, the eating of pets and local animals seemed to be just rumors. That was a really stupid (and I think Kamala even says, "This is stupid" or something but she isn't mic'ed) hill to die on.
