• (a) spend the month of January bombing Slovak hospitals and elementary schools, or,
  (b) improve security at Charles University and launch a police investigation to see if there were any abettors who could be arrested

The overwrought sadness and anger at the guns has become something of a tiresome cliché after these incidents. I wouldn't be surprised at all, if an NGO such as the SHP (Sandy Hook Promise) hasn't already sent over planeloads of hardcore sales reps...

Actually, it should be noted, the Czech Republic has fairly liberal, progressive gun laws, at least compared to many of its neighboring, semi-independent EU provinces.

The relative ease at which the Czechs can get and own guns is because they remember the Iron Curtain. They know if the EU ecomes any more enfeebled than at present, Putin will not hesitate to regain more former U.S.S.R. holdings (regardless of the exact geo-political terminology used back in the day).

A little schoolyard shoot-up is small potatoes compared to that...
Though admittedly it all may still be inadequate of Putin decides to start the invasion with masive clouds of nerve gas!
