Clan Event: Defend Your Clan - Complete - OLDS Wins!

Post by shoop76 »

The CD Team Presents:
    • Defend Your Clan
Tournament Organizer: shoop76
Assistant TO: fishydance

FORMAT:
  • Each clan will select 6 home maps consisting of 2 doubles, 2 triples and 2 quadruples maps.
  • All settings allowed - except - freestyle, speed, no reinforcements and manual
  • All games will have 20 round limits
  • Every round you will be randomly paired against another clan. Each clan will be able to attack 2 maps from opposing clan, 1 attack per member
  • Matchups will be randomly drawn before each round.
  • Should we have an uneven number of clans then 1 clan will draw a random bye
  • Should a clan only have one map remaining then only 1 attack is possible
  • When all maps for a clan are eliminated that clan is eliminated from the event
  • All games will be created by the TO or ATO
  • Moves can either be PM'ed to TO or posted in thread
  • Any member that wins one game over the course of the event is eligible for a medal.
Rules:
  • 2 home games max for each clan member
  • Strict deadline will be followed. All event leaders will be messaged when deadline is established and given ample time to respond.
  • Should deadline not be met, penalty of loss of move or home map will occur.
  • 24 hour Fog Rule is not in effect, however, we strongly encourage that players give the other team the courtesy to wait 12 hours before taking the first turn so the other team can see the board
SCHEDULE:
Round 1 - February 14 February 21
Round 2 - February 28 March 7
Round 3 - March 14 March 21
Round 4 and beyond - will depend on earlier rounds

PRIZES:
We'll be giving out 10,000 credits to the winning clan, to be divided amongst those who play. Also, everyone on the winning team who plays at least 1 game will get a Clan Win Achievement. The winning clan will also receive a clan plaque.

Details subsequent to change, any issues will be handled by Shoop76, fishydance and the CD team.

Question: The last line says:
Sign-ups close February 10th - Please sign-up below with your maps and defending teams
Does that mean that when a clan chooses a map a lot of members are strong at, they cannot rotate players depending on who has slots available/time?

Good question! Thank you for that. :)

Players can absolutely be changed. Only the maps and settings must remain the same throughout. I've updated the OP.

Every clan will be randomly assigned a clan to attack. For this you get to select 2 maps to attack. Either post here or pm me these moves.

I have a question about the 2 home games max for each player rule. Since we will only be defending 2 maps at a time, is it alright for a player to be in more than 2 teams when we submit player names?

Teams are interchangeable, so that should be ok

Thanks for the quick answer.

"Every round you will be randomly paired against another clan. Each clan will be able to attack 2 maps from opposing clan, 1 attack per member"

Does this mean we will defend 2 maps each round and, if it does, why is there a need for the only 2 home games max for each clan member rule? Or does that mean during the course of the entire competition? Also, what does 1 attack per member mean?

At first the idea was to keep the same teams on every map, but it looks like this has changed. Let’s just go with maps and make the teams interchangeable. Idea is to keep this fun and to get some participation.
