I'd like to add my voice to the chorus of people protesting the change to allow the giant oversized maps back into the tournament.

These maps were excluded from the tournament for two very good reasons.

One, they are complex and give an advantage to expert players, destroying the "everyman has a chance" democratic nature of this tournament.

Two, they greatly increase the time needed to play, changing the tournament from being fun to being a chore.

I think allowing the giant maps back in completely undercuts the original intent of this tournament.

I don't think I will go to the extreme of resigning, as many others have, but my delight and enthusiasm for this tournament has definitely been undermined.

This tourney is not the superleague. Does not have to be played by those rules, excluding maps here makes no sense imo

Any collection of maps will be subjective. The maps that were excluded by super league look mostly like a banning of maps they dislike than following any real pattern. I agree maps like hive and das are stupid for something like this, but that's also a bias. Most other maps all take relatively similar times to play.

The Super League banned maps system was to allow rounds to « complete » soon enough so next rounds would not start to pile up on players, i believe the average rounds used was 12 and under. Here we are not playing Super League nor rounds to be send at determined dates.

Just for the records, my map in Super League Three Kingdom of Korea was added to the banned list because I had few matchs were the games went beyond it. That is a rule a fully support and I changed my home map to something that may end quicker

This event is not meant to play with the the fastest pace ever, just for players to play, the whole tournament is 20 rounds limited.

We can tweak the random map and play the 3rd game on Classic? This would give no chance for a player to end up playing a big complex map twice (opponent and random choice)

can i remind you clowns of this?

the only reason all the maps were banned was because of craig, who was never meant to be involved with this tournament in the first place. he imposed himself on it.

nobody is forcing you to sign up. you dont go around posting in every tournament asking them to change the setup to suit you.

even mods posting in here about it. pathetic lmao. especially shoop. would expect better.

I still stick to my guns, if I had the time to be running this one, it would definitely include a random map, just my two cents

Please leave random map, already enough rules changes.

Also for those objectiving that all maps are added, there is also 20 rnd limit added so any complex map willnot contribute to the longetivity of this tournament.

Also CK was never slective to maps so all maps should be allowed in honor of his playing style and versatile attitude.

Not sure why you are calling me out in particular, Caff. So now I cannot voice my opinion. Honestly people thought they were signing up for 1 thing and now that is being changed, without even being hardly communicated. Personally, there are a lot of maps I hate. Having to play them sucks the joy out of cc. This whole drama seems totally unnecessary, certainly not what this tournament should be about.

It was communicated, wasn't it? I know I got a PM about it. There are a lot of tournaments I don't like. It's pretty simple. I don't enter those.

The organizer's now feel that including all maps will be more in the spirit of what CK was about. I agree with that. But even if I didn't, I like to think I wouldn't be in this thread bashing those running it who did not change the maps rule for the joy of making everyone's life horrible for playing maps they don't like, but because they want to honor their friend.

IamCaffeine is Clueless. New Year, New York, he doesn't know which it is! Not a clue!

Just to remind everyone - I offered to set up the Tournament because CK had given up all other commitments and CC but loved to play in Tournaments set up right until his death. The fun aspects through commentary brought him some light relief when he had so much shit to deal with elsewhere. So the Tournament was designed specifically with a format that CK would have loved to have played in. A FUN event. The changes made are HORRIBLE, turning it into something closer to a CC Tournament. Which as we all know, kinda suck!

1. I offered a Memorial Tourney to Pconnolly365, and his other friends agreed.
2. I set up the Tournament. But also had to take weeks compiling a Memorial Intro from his freinds. I posted it in Paul's name.
3. The changes being made to the Tourament are horrendous for making it a fun Tournament.

Rounds lasting forever, No fun commentary, No Survivor/KO Rounds, instead a fixed Round limit, trust me, this Tournament should be a MILLION times better than it will be. It is heart breaking to watch.

Anyway Guys, I had ro respond to a Guy spouting shite, apologies for that.

I would love to make this Tourney Great Again! It sucks that I have been removed by the person who was spreading totally un-true allegations against me, damaging my reputation by doing so! It's all a bit shit for all concerned really.

All good bud, I was just trying to open a door if that is what everyone wanted but current rules are good for me too.

I will try to have the spreadsheet sheet ready this weekend and Round 1 ready to launch

"New Year, New York, he doesn't know which it is!"
That certainly is good humor Craig style. But lets stop the fighting here and now guys. Its a memorial cup so like going to church for a memorial service, show respect.

And Caff has a point. It was a bit "hi-jacked" into a Super league format and that was not the original idea CK best friends like Swimmer, TheSamurai.. intended it to be.

And these players are his friends because go to CaronylKlusters wall and you can see their names as sitters..

Craig his name is not listed there..

CaronylKlusters sitters should decide what format it needs to be to honor CK.. so no banned maps like Swimmer explained but a round 20 limit seems a great idea to keep the peace.

Also i think Craig had nothing but good intentions so lets forget the quarrels and lets play this to honor CaronylKluster.
