CC Dispatch

Post by Dukasaur »

Dispatch Dec 10th, 2019

There are exactly 17 spaces left in the 2019 Escalating Championships. If you are a fan of Escalating games and haven't joined yet, this is your chance to shine! It costs nothing to join this game, but prizes range up to 5000 creds, so it's nothing to sneeze at!

For fans of the forum-and-chat end of things, Razorvich has planned an ambitious event, Jokers Come Out to Play. Some last-minute details are still being worked out, but it should start today or tomorrow.

For clan players, there is the big Clan event of the year, Conqueror's Cup 10. Sign-ups are open until Dec. 28.

[player]Dukasaur[/player] has retired as head of the Community Team and [player]Mad777[/player] has stepped up to the plate. Full announcement is HERE. We are all looking forward to see what new events Mad will be cooking up for us next.

Great news.

Would love to see this sent out in a mass email to all registered users every month. It would double our active players

Thanks, man!

We're working on re-launching the PM version tonight. Hope to start working on the email angle, which is a little trickier.

I know when lackattack was sending out the email for the first Conquer Cup, he had to send it out in small batches many hours apart, to avoid getting tagged as a spammer. I'm not sure what all the ins and outs of this are. If anybody has any expertise in this field, we'd love to hear from you.

Do you know which software you're planning on using to send emails?

No idea.

Same as anything else... write a filter to send them to your spam box.

Should probably just use MailChimp. As long as they believe the emails are legit and you’re not spamming people you’ll be fine.

Any service will work.

The absolute key to staying out of trouble is to include a link for them to unsubscribe from future emails.

I'm pretty sure MailChimp does that by default and they're widely regarded as the best third party mailing tool.

[spoiler=Dispatch Aug 25 2019]The return of The Championships and other series has brought an eruption of enthusiasm back to CC this summer. Accordingly, we’ve decided to ride the wave and try bringing back the Dispatch. It will not be the huge weighty tome that the old Dispatch was, but a brief and simple weekly letter.

So, news lately. As mentioned, The Championships have returned. The main information thread is HERE, but this is NOT a sign-up thread. Each of the Championships has its own separate sign-up thread. The Team Championship is sign-up is now open.. Four others are to follow: Poly starting in October, Conquest Maps in November, Escalating in December, and 1v1 in January.

As exciting as that is, Mad777’s mega-event Map Masters may be generating even more buzz. This is a mega-event in the style of the USA Supertournament, where a new map is introduced every week. Maps will stay up for two weeks and reiterate as often as they fill. Check regularly in the Map Masters box at the top of your Central Command page, or look at the Tournament page.

Next week, we will discuss another favourite coming back, the return of the Great War. We will also have a look at Clans. See you then![/spoiler][spoiler=Dispatch Dec 10th 2019]There are exactly 17 spaces left in the 2019 Escalating Championships. If you are a fan of Escalating games and haven't joined yet, this is your chance to shine! It costs nothing to join this game, but prizes range up to 5000 creds, so it's nothing to sneeze at!

The Children's Place is a specialty boutique that sells children's clothing and accessories. With only a few stores when it first opened in 1969, it became a subsidiary of Federated Department Stores in 1981. When the parent corporation sold off some of its brands in 1988, Joseph Sit joined a group of investors to purchase the company. Profits soared as a result of a relationship with Disney, which allowed children's place coupon to operate the Disney Store.

Since MailChimp is the top third-party mailing programme, I'm very confident they do that by default.
