Re: The Greatest Egg of All Time [CLOSED]
You fixed it by adding to the title. So yay.
Re: The Greatest Egg of All Time [CLOSED]
First, by posting your predictions: look at the list of thirty eggs, name which ones will win. Choose up to five. You will score 1 point if any egg you named is on the list of the five that are eventually chosen. You will score an additional 5 points if any of the five eggs you named is the eventual #1 winner. You will score an additional 25 points if all five of the eggs you named are on the eventual list of 5. You will score an additional 125 points for the Quinfecta: if you name all five eggs that are the eventual winners, and name them in the correct order, the ultimate #1, the ultimate #2, etc.
There will be five bonus points if you make your prediction today, before the first poll.
Scores (rough draft)You will get 2 bonus points for every person who posts a prediction and says that you told them to. In order to score, they MUST make a valid prediction (naming five eggs that are on the list) and they MUST say that you told them to. Also, in order for the bonus points to count, you must score at least one normal point (ie. at least one egg that you name must be on the eventual list of winners).

LOCKED the thread temporarily. I need to get it scored, and I'll never have a chance to do it in one sitting, so I'll lock it while I do the scoring.
I'll unlock the thread once I've announced the scores so people can congratulate each other.

Re: The Greatest Egg of All Time FULL LIST OF WINNERS
Okay, big drum roll:
Top placings (discussion to follow)
I think that's a pretty amazing achievement in itself. Picking 4/5 in a field of 30 is pretty awesome. If it was completely random, it would be a 1/2,210,440,498,434,925,488,635,904,000,000 chance. Of course it's not completely random. Some of the eggs are clearly more attractive than others, even to my primitive eyes. Even so, it's a pretty amazing achievement, and I think when I was putting up this contest I didn't really think through how difficult it was. So, regardless of any bonus points, I'm going to give a GA and 3 months premium to each of those. Let us all sing the praises of dakky21, DavidCrome, misteryforall, and Zemljanin!
Nine players correctly identified 3 out of 5: Elaterate, Tirbid, CarlosD91, akabob2, Blitz1, MadagascarAdam, Pedrospb, TX AG 90, and grt. Five players correctly chose 2 out of five including the Tank: DBandit70, Mageplunka69, keyborn, Otnal and Matrix20027. Well done, all of you! Nobody who didn't choose the Tank got 3/5 correct, but there were a lot of players who got 2/5 correct without choosing the Tank. There were nine players who got 1 out of 5, including IcePack whose 1/5 included the Tank.
Of the players who attempted a prediction, there were only 6 who got zero right. There were also two players who posted without actually making a prediction.
Now for the bonus points. Thirty-seven players qualified for the early bird bonus. As for the other bonus, for bringing people to the thread, Elaterate absolutely dominated. Overall he sent 21 people to the thread, although 2 didn't actually make a prediction so don't count. Still, that's 19 valid predictions brought to the contest, for stunning tour-de-force of 38 bonus points! Adding in his 8 regular points and his 5 early bird points brings his grand total to 51 and makes him the clear winner of this event. Awesome work, Elaterate!
Tied for 2nd place are dakky21, DavidCrome, and misteryforall, who each won the 5-point earlybird in addition to (as noted above) getting 4/5 correct for 9 regular points, netting a total of 14.
Altogether seven players are tied for 3rd. Six of those are players who got 3/5 predictions right plus the earlybird. The seventh is Groovysmurf, who only got 2 regular points but also brought three people to the thread for six bonus points. Well done Groovy!
Elaterate, the ultimate grand winner, very generously volunteered to pass his prize on to the 2nd-place player. I've divided up the year of premium that I was planning to give out between the four players who got 4/5 right. I'm still going to give Elaterate a General Achievement in his own right for being the recognized winner of the event, as well as a yellow star. The three players in second place, in addition to the 3 months prem and the GA, will also get a bonus of 250 creds each. The six players in third place will get 100 creds each.
Everyone who made any correct guesses at all will get an egg of the type they guessed (in other words, if you guessed "Spiral Egg", you will get a Spiral Egg.)
Thank you all for participating! Best of luck to everyone in the main event! Two days left in the event, so I hope you get a chance to use the extra eggs. Special note, as I see lot's of freemium players here -- remember that there are quite a few Freemium-eligible tournaments in the Easter event, so keep your eyes on your Central Command page as they pop up.

The spiral design was the "best"... others are just cartooning drawn on eggs. (Could have been drawn on anything, any shape.)

I think this was my first real participation in a forum competition here, so I'm pleasantly surprised to have made it to third place! It was an enjoyable experience. Congrats to all the other winners!

Prizes have now been awarded, except for a couple minor glitches that I need an extra day on. All eggs have been awarded, in any case, so you can still use them before the event ends.

I have to bump this thread, since it threatened to leave the first page... (I found it on penultimate place)
Just want to prevent MYSELF from forgetting.

Re: The Greatest Egg of All Time [WINNERS ANNOUNCED]
My casual writing and your rashly reading, together brought us this misunderstanding...
I received "monies" on time from Razor, as well as from you (thank you Razor, thank you Duk). So there weren't any problems in that part.
Different with medals, though.
Razor's final delivery time - about six months
Your time so far - about two months
Obviously, you have enough leeway. Even if you hire an extremely slow goldsmith for my GA medal, minting shouldn't take four months.
So you're good
. You always were, sorry if I scarred you for a moment.
