The Rat Governor of New York Kathleen Hochul is being sued for her order that state workers in New York must be vaccinated on the basis of voices she says she heard in her head that claimed to be coming from God.

Erin Mersino, the law center’s Chief of Supreme Court and Appellate Practice authored the brief. She highlighted the precarious position of New York’s Gov. Kathy Hochul — who instructed New Yorkers that “God wants” everyone to use these vaccines, and that individuals who have decided not to undergo COVID-19 vaccination “aren’t listening to God and what God wants.” Hochul published these statements on New York’s official state website. Since Hochul claims to be the authority on what God wants, she removed all religious accommodations from the vaccine mandate.

The suit goes on to state that, by declaring herself the Prophet of God and issuing executive orders based on messages she claims to have received from Heaven, Hochul violated the First Amendment's establishment clause. Hochul has also failed to respond to a Freedom of Information Act request for the full text of the messages she received from God, even though such messages would be public records subject to disclosure under New York's Sunshine Act.
