Alice in wonderland and Through the looking glass and what alice found there are two of the very best books i have ever read.

No, they are two books. One is called Alice in Wonderland and the other is called Through the Looking Glass and what Alice Found There.

I read the seventh tower books by garth nix not a bad series.

i hate almost every book, i never read a book that was assigned in school that was over 20 pages(and half of the pages had to be pictures), and i still don't read books, my mother even told me that i refused to go to story time when i was younger, if the book is supposed to be entertaining i just wait for a movie, and when i needed to do history reports i just looked info on the inernet and occasionally watched the history channel

7th tower was good but the keys to the kingdom imho was much better as has been the abhorsen trilogy so far though wouldnt reccoment abhorsen to a fourth grader or below unless they're quite a good reader like my friend on here

I agree with Titus Finn that James Clavell is great. His other Asian novels are also good - Taipan is my favorite of his I think.

Anyone into fantasy MUST read Robert Jordan. I totally got hooked on his books a few years ago and I have been loaning the books out ever since. Everyone I've given them to has also become Wheel of Time addicts. Keeping with fantasy, I really liked Stephen King's Dark Tower series (hated the ending though) and R Scott Bakkers Prince of Nothing trilogy puts a cool spin on the genre.

I've just been on a Robert Ludlum kick - anyone who enjoys spy novels will enjoy (Caleb - just watch the Jason Bourne movies).

Legal thrillers anyone? Put down your Grisham and try William Lashner.

jay - pick yourself up some Bertrand Russell for all our sakes.

I also like Chuck Palahniuk's books (Caleb - you can just watch Fight Club).

All time favorite - Bleak House by Dickens

Just finished Fast Food Nation - all those posting in the illegal immigrants thread should definitely read it

I have read a few John Grisham, a few Koontz, even Michael Savage. But not alot of time for novel reading lately.

if there iis one book (well 3 actually) I would recocommend to everyone on this site, it's the Way of the peaceful warrior series.

1)Way of the peaceful warrior
2) sacred journey of the peacefull warrior
3) The journeys of socrates

These are some other books I would recommend, they are kind of similar to that trilogy.

1) Black Elk Speaks
2) Jonathon Livingston Seagull

The first trilogy seriously changed my life. i'm only 15 just about 16, but I felt it. Those books are powerful. The next one Black elk speaks, is a hard read, but all of these books have little messages and BIG ones, all over them, they are about change. Black elk speaks has a huge impression on people. And lastly, my favorite. Jonathon livingston seagull.... Probably the best book I have ever read. If you buy it, don't laugh at it, it has pictures of seagulls. The seagulls represent us. So read these books please, I bet you you will think about the world differently afterwards.

DUDE!! I totally loved all of these...Deception Point is good as well!!
Angels and Demons was the best of the four that I've read.

Another author who I highly recommend is Pat Conroy...
