You're right, the internship is first, but it's a short one - the cancelled trip is at the end of August. One problem is that flights and intermediate hotels were booked independently of the tour. I suspect that we'll have to find some way to extend her Ialy time unless she can do a little more Greek island hopping for a few days. I guess if the worst thing is that she ends up in Sorrento for a few extra days, she won't be too worried. It's one of the finest places on the planet - but she's already paid for the Balkan tour and they are only offering credit, not a refund.

The Delta variant is here. First identified in India, this more transmissible form of the novel coronavirus has spread to at least 77 countries and regions and now makes up more than 20 percent of all U.S. cases. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has identified it as a “variant of concern.” If vaccination rates fail to keep pace with its spread, experts say, the variant could lead to new COVID surges in parts of the country where a substantial proportion of the population remains unvaccinated.

One group that appears to be more difficult to persuade is young adults. U.K. data indicate most of the Delta cases have been in younger people, who are less likely to have been vaccinated. In the U.S., adults aged 18 to 29 have had the lowest vaccination rates of any age age group, a recent CDC report found. Members of this group have a lower risk of severe disease or dying from COVID, but they can still be hospitalized and are at risk of developing long-haul symptoms. “There are still plenty of negative outcomes,” Rasmussen says.

The more intense push for vaccination appears now to be to arrest increased spread being caused by the vaccinated themselves, based on new discoveries of properties not previously known about the vaccines, underscoring how little we know about their long-term implications.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidance on Tuesday recommending indoor mask use in areas with high transmission rates after new data suggested fully vaccinated individuals are not just contracting Covid-19 but could potentially infect others.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said recent studies had shown that those vaccinated individuals who do become infected with Covid have just as much viral load as the unvaccinated, making it possible for them to spread the virus to others. Based on that finding, Walensky said the CDC is also recommending that all school children wear masks in the fall.

The more people who get vaccinated, the more the virus is being spread to the unvaccinated, therefore, more people need to get vaccinated. Unfortunately, that strategy only works as long as the vaccines themselves work, and there's evidence they're already failing.

Just how widespread infections among the vaccinated are in the U.S. is unknown. But despite the lack of data from the CDC, anecdotal evidence is widespread, with high-profile cases of groups of fully vaccinated individuals getting infected — like a group of Democrats from the Texas Legislature, a White House official, a group of New York Yankees, and an Olympic athlete.

Michael Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research at the University of Minnesota who advised the Biden transition, said he is particularly concerned about the increasing number of instances he is hearing about where groups of vaccinated individuals are becoming infected. The CDC has said the data indicates the vaccinated can’t spread the virus to other vaccinated people, but Osterholm said the clusters of cases among the vaccinated suggest otherwise.

In one cluster of more than 200 cases in Provincetown, Massachusetts, 70 percent of the Covid positive cases since July 1 have been among vaccinated individuals, Town Manager Alex Morse said in an MSNBC interview.

A study by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem published on Tuesday indicated that the Pfizer vaccine’s effectiveness in preventing serious illness has fallen to 80 percent.

Recent data released by the Health Ministry shows that those who were first to receive their two doses of the Pfizer COVID vaccine are more likely now to be infected, as the vaccine appears to lose protection potency over time.

These people want nothing less than every man, woman and child to take the jab. Oh for sure the testing isn't accurate. But worst case scenario is you test positive at some point and then take two weeks sick leave.

But if you're planning to leave NYS anyway it would make the most impact to resign on the day the mandate comes into effect which will help contribute to a sense of chaos and fear in the regime.

But if you're planning to stay in NYS better to stay employed so you have a steady source of income. All Natural Clean people should stockpile resources in case things get ugly after the Frankenstein Vaxed discover they've been had.
