One of the things about Risk is that there is an element of chance involved. We work to minimize that but there are always aspects that are subject to chance.
This tournament is all about chance.
Every round you will be randomly paired with partners that you may or may not know. It could be doubles. It could be quads, or triples. Or even a poly set or two. You don’t know
You also don’t know the settings. Sunny/fog. Trench or not, nuclear/zombie/escalating/flat/no card. 20/30/50/100 rounds. Chained/adjacent/parachute/none
The only givens are the map each round and that it will be automatic, sequential and 24 hours and there will be no 1v1 (except poly). No terminator and no assassin
For the maps, we are going to explore the history of war.

So. Over 10 weeks you will get 30 games. You should have a variety of different teams and settings to play. Some May suit you better than others, that’s chance are work.
Scoring is simple. 1 point per win.
Finals round. All player with 20 or more wins qualify for the finals. As an incentive to have t he monst, the player with the most points will select 2 of the game settings (to be determined later as we see how many qualifiers there are).
Since mysteryforall asked why happens if nobody reaches 20 wins, should it happen what i will do is take anyone with 19 wins. If there are less than 20 players with 19 wins we will take anyone with 18 wins as well. And so forth until we have at least 20. Note. This 20 player minimum only applies if nobody makes it to 20. If 3 players have 20 then those three are the only ones in the finals.
For the finals we will use a different set of maps
THE FINALSDue to the game load you must have a premium to enter but all entries will be accepted. We will start playing the first week of February however participants may join after the start date they just won’t have the opportunity to go back and make up weeks they have missed.Spoiler
Feudal Epic Patch Wars Clandemonium In the event of a tie after the finals we will play a round robin. Each tied player will play, if necessary, a tie breaking round poly (random as to 2, 3 or 4) against each of the other tied players on three maps WWWII Europe Lunar Wars Fractured America Should we have a tie at this point the tie breakers are first the fewest rounds to win in the tiebreaker games, second the fewest rounds to win In the finals games. Third the longest to last in their losing games for the tiebreaker and fourth the longest it took to lose In the finals games

Re: [TPA7]. The Individual Team Tournament
I don't know the procedure for this. Can we request a player to be removed from this tournament?
Specifically "Buff McKagan". He's joined the tournament, missed 2 of his first few turns, and made no effort to make plays that made sense or that his other team members were discussing as a team.
I think someone like this just ruins the tournament for others. It has obviously ruined one of the games for our team, and will likely ruin it for others too.

I realized that last Sunday too. Decided that organizer error is just one more random factor to deal withi-andrei wrote:I just realised you sent us a baltic states game not baltic crusades and we all joined lol

what's the stand on making alliances in this tournament? obviously in tournament games it's a dick move in general but i know in some tournaments it's strictly not allowed. just wondering what the stance is here.

Re: [TPA7]. The Individual Team Tournament
ok. replace me in this tournament please. i wont be accepting new invites.
whoever replaces me will be on at least 6 points counting games not yet ended, so they have a good chance at winning the tournament.
although for some reason i'm not even in the scoreboard despite having won games lol.

You have three games completed with 1 win thus far. You should be on the scoreboard but are not. I apologize for the oversight and will correct it.iAmCaffeine wrote:ok. replace me in this tournament please. i wont be accepting new invites.

I get the notice that's there is a new message on this link thinking there's something relevant (Sorry! You all just got a new message about this post too), then I see lame crap like this. Sad to see this nonsense. This TO is doing a great job (Thanks barterer2002). If you have a beef with him, take it up in person with a PM.

Re: [TPA7]. The Individual Team Tournament
Standing are updated
Youonkazoo has the lead with 11 wins to date.
Ukey is just behind with 9
*pixar, Tin Trumpet and Wizz00 are tied for third with 8.
There is still a long way to do with 137 active games and 6 more maps to come.

Re: [TPA7]. The Individual Team Tournament
The last set of games are out. 161 active games mean we have a few more months before the finals come up. So far all games on Tribal Florida and Triple Alliance are finished all other maps have at least one game still playing

thanks for the tournament barterer.
although as to why some people join a team tournament simply to never communicate, ignore notes and delete wall posts, i will never know.

This. Would be fun if we could somehow vet players. Had someone get upset I wasn't being clear in my requests when the game chat literally says "Fort ___ to ___. Those troops are just sitting there and I'm about to die"iAmCaffeine wrote:thanks for the tournament barterer.

Re: [TPA7]. The Individual Team Tournament
mate, my buddy templeyard ignored everything in chat in 2 quads games. literally no comment and didn't do what anyone suggested. i walled him twice asking him to participate etc but he just deleted the wall comments. i tried to PM and he didn't respond. it wasn't until i called him a piece of shit or something similar and he responds to that saying "there are bigger things in this world than your silly game" like ok sure, i won't disagree with that, but don't join a tournament if you aren't going to participate?Swimmerdude99 wrote:This.
