Great start.

But I think Southwest should be a +6.

Too few territories, needs to have at least 36 IMO.

It looks like a great map. I do believe that it is much to small though.

I have a suggestion: for the territory name for "Southeast", why not call it the Alaska Panhandle?

I agree. And Pannhandle or Southwest of whatever should be +5 or +6. But good start, fellow FZSD!

I agree with increasing the zoom and adding more territories.

My personal opinion, 42 is an awesome number. But, that's quite a few territories for you to add. If you can do it though, I'd recommend it.

The visuals are looking quite good, and I can see pepperoni's influence on it.

I see a 4-way border where salmon, kenai, chevak and healy meet. So, I'd clear that up a bit. Though, if you do zoom in or add more territories, maybe that won't be there anyway

ok, so my to-do list so far is :

1. Make more territories.
2. Make my map bigger.
3. Change "Southeast" to "The Panhandle".
4. Change the bonus for "Southwest" to 6.

I agree. Alaska is the biggest state in the US, it can fit more territories than that. Get at least 40 territories and I would like to see a territory for Anchorage and Denali. I'd recommend increasing the map size to allow for more Territories. And what about barriers like rivers and mountains?

I'm very happy that there is a Palmer territory on the map, but how come there's no Anchorage territory? Anchorage has two thirds of the entire Alaskan population in it, I think it probably deserves a little recognition.

Also, just a slight geographical change you'll need to fix, Valdez is east of Palmer, not west. So just change the Palmer territory to Valdez, and the Valdez territory to Palmer and that should fix it.

Also, the Halmes territory is really spelled Haines.
Banks should be Fairbanks.
Sand Point should be Aleutian Islands, unless you plan on adding more territories to that section and then you can narrow it down more.

You could split Nome in half horizontally and name the top half Kotzebue if you need extra territories.

You could use the Brooks Range and the Alaska Range mountains for natural barriers. Also the Yukon River.

Anyway, just my $.02. :D

I dont get why so many people are complaining about the number of territories.
Doodle earth has gotten away with only 18 territories. No one has a right to complain about how few a map has anymore. That got thrown out the window when doodle earth spat all over the foundry standards. You cant say 18 is fine for 1 map, but then say other maps need at least 36.

I don't understand you Teya. You obviously don't like Doodle Earth, yet when people are encouraging this poster to increase the number of territories on the map you are against it.

Did you even think about what you posted? Your reasoning is illogical to put it nicely.

People are just trying to help this map have wide appeal. You're not adding anything constructive.

Its not illogical.
You cant say that the foundry doesnt have double standards which people often say when it clearly does.
What Im saying is that doodle earth got away with so few territories but every other map is pushed to have at least 36. How is that fair??? Its just stupid.

By all means I think this map needs more territories, Its also a nice change to see a reasonably sized map. Not something that is so big you need to scroll, but seriously, how come 1 map can get away with a small number of territories but others cant.

Probably because I wasn't there when it was being created.
