Brexit deals - Rest of world - dowian2[/spoiler]
Brexit looms large again. Covid had distracted us, but suddenly, here it comes. The date we leave Europe with uncertainty and no deal. So its time we went in search of deals around the world. What will little old England (on behalf of the other British Isles) come back with? We start in England, and head West, cruising around the world hoping to find something. Once all the offers are gathered, a more focused look at continents will be required, before a look at the whole globe. Of course, this is a complex way of contriving another 1 v 1 tournament loosley attached to a storyline. Basically, win enough games to qualify for the knockout stages.
So....In the fourth of my round robin series, we drop the trench theme. It will be a mixture of 1 v 1, Poly 2 & Poly 3. I require 16 players to partake in a 1 v 1 battle on maps not previously used in my other tournaments. It will follow thus:
I have selected 15 maps for the group stages and they will play in this order:
England (poly 2), Iceland, Greenland, Caribbean Islands (poly 2), Mexico, Brazil, New Zealand (poly 3), Australia, Phillapines, Thailand (2), Three Kingdoms of Korea, Japan, Greater China, Hong Kong, Soviet Union (poly 2)
All games will be 1 v 1 except 5 larger maps that will be either poly 2 or poly 3.
Scoring & Format
Each map will be two games
Win 2-0 = 3 points
Draw 1-1 = 1 point
Lose 0-2 = 0 points
After 15 rounds, this will result in the top 4 going into semi finals, 1st v 4th , 2nd v 3rd. Semis will be 1 game each on the following maps: Far East, Canada, Middle East (2), Central America, South America (2), Africa (2), Oceania. The finals will be best of 7 games split 3 games on World 2:1 (poly 3), 2 games on Land & Sea (poly 2), 2 games on Classic. At the end of this, we should have a winner.
The group stage will hopefully be cut and dried regarding finishing position, but in the event points for matches doesn’t split players, the following will apply
In the event of a 2 player tie, the match played together will hopefully split it. If that was a draw, or multiple teams then...
countback of points last 3 games, 6 games, 9 games, 12 games
If this cannot split, then a one off game will split, played on Classic.
All settings will be the same throughout
Auto/Seq
No Spoils
Chained
Fog**
20 ROUND LIMIT
**Please allow 12 hours for map to be seen, or post what could have been seen if you have to play earlier than that. But I won’t remake games on this basis. Please sort it yourself or get on with it.
Game Load
Group Stage - 15 matches, 30 games in total. 3 maps at a time, so 6 games. Every 10 days or so.
Knockout Stages – 7 games at once
In total, the winner will have played 44 games, which very interestingly is the same as my other tournaments.
I will take a reserve in case of a dead beat. In this case, that round’s games will be remade with the reserve and then the original player will be thrown out. If it is after Round 1, they will pick up the campaign of the drop out.
Any other issues will be dealt with as they come up.
