Things in Florida might be getting worse.
Is that even possible?

Well, I never heard of that cream cheese thing before Frankie's warning. Sounds like a possible escalation to me.

Why stop with cream cheese? Why not escalate things further and include ice cream?

You would have to ask an expert such as Frankie. I'm a simple muscle car enthusiast who loves lunch.

So all criminals have mental health issues?
I think mental health is a root cause for many criminals/societal problems... but certainly not ALL, and maybe not even most.
It's all or nothing with you? You can't solve some problems unless they apply to all?
No. I didn’t say that.
The question is... what does a “police-free” future look like.
The answer implies that we won’t need police if we have better mental-health professionals/system.
I am simply pointing out that, though if may reduce the need for police and allow us to reduce the number of police, it would not eliminate the need for police entirely.
OK fine, I posted in a thread that had a troll title that almost none of the people who say Defund the Police think. Sue me, to engage in the rhetoric of our over-legalized state. Or just respond to what I said, which I guess you did at some point.

This is also what a police-free future looks like ... a tweet from the bureau chief of a CBS affiliate inside the East Precinct of Seattle, no longer patrolled by the Seattle Police but "community patrolled" by Warlord Raz and his gunmen - what all of America in 2021 under Biden looks like - Chaos / Disorder / Rape / Slaughter

Why we will win --- the millstone is now hanging round the neck of the Rats ...
... come November 4 we can finally put those expensive M1 Abrams' to use on the streets of Blue States.
In the poll, which was conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News using Ipsos’ Knowledge Panel, nearly three in four white Americans and 57% of Hispanics are against defunding the police.
Democrats stand as the lone faction among the political tribes that approve by a majority of defunding the police (55%) and redirecting it to mental health, housing and education programs (59%).

Re: What does a police-free future look like?
Is that your ONLY answer to a large problem? Military on the Streets and killing civilians?
IF the only way to restore calm in the streets is to kill people, we are a sad society. I do not think such tactics are necessary in most cases.
All though there are some few rand are times when a "heavy handed"response (guns, massive arrests, shooting of violent rioters) is needed by the police or National Guard troops is needed, I do not thing this is the time to use such tactics against most protesters.
BTW: Some "crazy"mayors of large cities have banned the use of Tear Gas against some of these protesters, not ALL of whom have been peaceful. Some in the Media in the USA now call them "mostly peaceful."

Saxi agrees 100%, in most cases peaceful protest makes for a pleasant afternoon.

They're not "crazy" they're crazy.
If a crowd begins attacking the police - as has happened frequently - the police can either defend themselves with teargas or with live ammunition. When you ban teargas you remove the ability of the police to use escalating force. Now their first line of response is firing live rounds into the crowd. But that's what the Democriot mayors want. Their followers are mere props for them.
- Mortality Rate, Tear Gas: 0.01%
Mortality Rate, Water Cannon: 0.01% - already banned in United States
Mortality Rate, Baton Strikes: 0.20%
Mortality Rate, Rubber Bullets: 3.10%
Mortality Rate, Lead Bullets: 27.80%

You failed to directly answer my first question. But maybe you are advocating that, too, using Bullets to shoot and kill civilians, by police and by the military.

Civilian combatants should be subject to lethal offensive and defensive measures, yes.
- - A civilian non-combatant is someone who engages in civil disobedience, who walks around with a picket sign, who chants, who signs petitions, etc.
- A civilian combatant is someone who uses weaponry - either constructed or makeshift - to attack the forces and facilities of the democratic government.

I don't know why you are arguing with Trumpbot Jusplay. Saxi is in favor of Trump becoming king of Murica and only passing the thrown onto his offspring as well so it shouldn't surprise you that he supports the US military killing it's own citizens.

Apparently a police-free US looks exactly like a police-filled US, just without the uniforms:

Re: What does a police-free future look like?
One person perspective.
I talked to my neighbor who is a Child Protective Services social worker. A high turnover position due to the nature of what he deals with. He said the county is mostly safe and going to welfare checks is a normal part of his day and sometimes night. When I brought social workers going on calls for inebriation, drug, mental issues without police escort he said it would be a no go. Much different training and protocols would be needed.
