I tried engaging in diplomacy in game chat with Machieavellian.
I posted on Machieavellian's wall as a reminder for Machieavellian to read game chat before taking turn.
Machieavellian responded by proposing an alternative cooperative strategy in a private message to me.
I informed Machieavellian that I would not be reading said message, and that it was against the rules.
Machieavellian did not act conciliatory, but instead said I should have kept it under wraps.

Dear Sirs,

I did contact Machiones after he asked me in chat to adhere to a strategy of his. I had a better option. I also didnt know that it was illegal to do this at the time. In his evidence it shows I made that clear, then either he pointed out in the rules where this was or I had a look and found this to be correct. I accepted that, but didnt hide behind the fact its not how we play at home and so I did argue the point. So, I then retyped the message I had sent to him in the chat for all to see and for clarity of the game. This is in the log at the beginning and so clearly correlates. His initial suggestion and my counter offer were never excepted on either of our counts so the game was never affected, and I had re posted anything that could be deemed as secretive.

In summary it was four messages (which were in response to a message from the accused) where a secret strategy was mistakingly offered, declined and pointed out, rectified and the game continued.

May I ask, Can someone file an accusation report during play or do they have to wait to be eliminated first?

And obviously you can see the evidence you were provided with are not in sent order.

And also...I never asked you to keep it under wraps. Thats quite unfair. I was proving the point (as i was arguing the point for having secret dilpomacy in the wider game) that once you post a strategy everyone can see it and its no longer a secret then and wont work...as is what happaned...and thats why its best to keep it mum, were my exact words, because otherwise how can it work? Thats a far cry from we 'ooo we (I, whatever) have done something wrong, please keep it a secret in case we get into trouble!! because thats your inference.

I have appealed this. Its not that I didnt message him, I did. Its that I didnt know it was disallowed and I was responding to his message to me albeit in gamechat. I reposted the message I had sent to him in gamechat within seconds of him pointing out it was illegal, regardless of whether I agreed or not.

You can make a complaint during the game, so the real question I have for Machiones is why he made his complaint TWO weeks later, as he lost the game...to me I might add, and why he overinflated his position to try and make a 50 year old woman sound like a child.

I think Machiones is a sore loser, someone who doesnt play fair (as his feedback will show you) and uses others disadvantage to his own advantage. He is not someone to be trusted...let alone have fun with!

That is why I always get things in writing. A contract protects you. Then you don't have to worry 2 weeks later.

I wasnt even worrying. Thats whats so odd. Machiones and I played as normal through entire game. Is that a thing, getting a contract before a game??

Machiones mentioned this in Global Chat and it was I who advised him to raise a C&A report.

Ignorance of the rules is no defense at all. We don't have many rules on this site so please familiarise yourself with them.

if you joined 12yrs ago and you dont know the #2 rule of the site in terms of gameplay then you a moose. stop looking for excuses, take a warning (which really means jack shit assuming you dont do this again) and continue playing the game.
