You're the one posting nonsense.

First you claimed that America would be safe from the virus, due to Trump's usurpation of dictatorial powers:

It is. And with his decisive action it'll be kept that way.

European Union - 723 cases

You even said "obeisance" revealing your true motives.

Then when it turned out that it takes more than usurpation of power to keep the nation safe, you switched gears. As the number of cases in the U.S. skyrocketed, you did a little hand-waving and switched from claiming that the U.S. would be safe to claiming that the number of deaths was trivial.
saxitoxin wrote:

This is true of all countries. However, body counts are unambiguous and there are thousands of corpses in Europe and a bit north of 100 in the U.S.

Now that those have shot up from 100 to almost 800 in one week, you want to switch to deaths per million?

Now that the death toll is starting to skyrocket again and prove your second claim bogus, you want to move the goalposts again and claim it's a trivial number of deaths per million. But you're hoisted by your own petard, because by switching to that standard you're now equal to China.

Checkmate.

ITT Duk doesn't understand "per capita" - pens a 2,000-word distraction to draw attention from fact he ran away like a debutante in Harlem when asked to actually make an enforceable commitment to his rants

Per million is what you wanted to claim, but per capita means the same thing with the decimal shifted six points.

2.4 per million in the U.S., 2.4 per million in China.

Or 0.0000024 per capita, if you prefer.

Great! So Duk and I have now agreed that if the US has more per capita deaths by May 1 than Italy he will quit CC. If the other way around I will. Game on! (Duk - if you're feeling a little scared and think your big mouth has bit off more than you can chew, feel free to back down your commitment to Spain. I'll still take that bet.)

Lol, not playing that game.

While you're busy paying obeisance, please ask your master to order some laboratory reagents.

https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/public-global-health/488752-coronavirus-testing-faces-new-challenge-as-key
President Trump has boasted that millions of test kits are being delivered to labs across the country, but the kits are rendered useless without the reagents that are needed to prepare samples for testing.

States and labs say they are now running dangerously low on those crucial chemicals.

It sounds like you think President Trump is doing an inferior job to other places in managing COVID-19. Since you strongly believe that, how about we have a bet - if President Trump has led the U.S. to more per capita coronavirus deaths than Italy by May 1 you'll quit CC. Otherwise, I will. Deal? Great - it's a deal!

Nope, it's not a deal. If the U.S. manages to have fewer deaths than Italy, it will be because of the hardworking and dedicated people working in healthcare at all levels, not because of the braggart trying to steal credit for it.

Go it - so American health practitioners are 10X more dedicated and hardworking than the Dutch and 130 times more dedicated and hardworking than the Italians, which is the reason for the disparate mortality totals. Not due to policy. Noted.

Anyway, we're losing focus - I'll give you a full 24 hours of farewell posts after you lose where you can present all sorts of face-saving rationalizations and back peddling for the benefit of posterity like "if the U.S. loses it's because of Trump, if the U.S. wins it's because of a variety of reasons other than Trump." That doesn't impact the bet.

So, now Duk and I have hammered out the details and are agreed - if the U.S. has fewer per capita coronavirus deaths than Italy by May 1 he'll quit CC (but will first get 24 hours of Arrivedercis). Otherwise, I will.

Just like your master, you'll keep repeating the same lie over and over until it becomes part of the folklore.

Just remember, you're already been proven wrong twice.

First you claimed that your master would keep you safe. WRONG.

Then you switched gears and claimed the number of deaths would be trivial. WRONG.

How many more times will you look like an idiot before this is over?

Anyway back to the topic of this thread - Duk, why do your jaws keep flapping but when you're asked to make a firm commitment to your predictions you keep trying to deflect, dodge and distract? All you have to do is type one word ("Yes") ...

Do you believe your insane ranting and predictions enough to commit to quitting CC on May 1 if per capita deaths in the U.S. are lower than Italy?
I'm going to give Duk the benefit of the doubt that he'll finally man up and accept his rants have consequences so, HitRed, go ahead and change the subject of this thread to "the Saxi v Duk Bet - Updates and Status."

No one I’ve ever known who has visited China (this is a decent number) has ever come back and said “it’s so clean”.

To the contrary.

I know many people who specifically moved out of China because it was dirty.

I provide evidence to support my points... you just make a statement and claim its’ truth.

So, if Joe Biden catches it and dies... Does that mean Bernie is the nominee? What if they both die, do we get Liz Warren at that point (I think she's technically 3rd in terms of actual delegates)?

Anyone else notice that everyone always seems to make a big show of foeing someone ( "Look at me! Look at me! I'm foeing you!") but when they inevitably unfoe them two weeks later, they do it quietly and without announcement? That's how it went down when Duk foed me, he trumpeted it from the mountaintops and made sure everyone knew; but when he unfoed me soon after there was no accompanying spectacle. Honestly, I laughed out loud at the ridiculous theatrics of it all.

Anyway, jones, if you need to seek out technological blocks to avoid exposure to opinions different than your own I support you wholeheartedly. While I've never experienced that level of frailty, I truly believe in from each according to his ability and don't judge those who do. Later!
