Can we return to the topic at hand? Global Warming is the topic, not education or democracy.

Speaking of Global Warming: Did You Know?
1. Over the 20th century global temperatures rose 1.4°F. [99]
2. A 2013 review of over 11,000 peer-reviewed studies published from 1991-2011 found that 97% of the studies expressing a position on the issue endorsed the idea that humans are causing global warming. [1]
3. A 2012 peer-reviewed study found that "up to 70% of the observed post-1850 climate change and warming could be associated to multiple solar cycles." [2]
4. A 2013 peer-reviewed study found that global warming over the past 100 years has proceeded at a rate faster than at any time in the past 11,300 years. [3]

Human's produce less than .04% of the CO2.
If there is global warming, humans certainly aren't causing it.

In fact, there are studies that suggest that most of the warming comes from the sun.

It's too bad we can't search the forum. Bigbullets would have loved CC circa 2008.

Sorry not to stay on topic, but why does everyone keep saying you can't search the forum? I can...
Re: Is Global Warming The Greatest Lie In Human History?
I've babbled endlessly about climate, but if you search my posts for "climate," none will come up, except for I guess this one now. We blame thorthoth for this right? I don't know why but we do.

Lots os hot air that contributed to the warming.

Learn to separate facts from political opinions. Fake = political opinion.
Global Warming in the view of deniers is political opinion turned into facts. They fail to examine and/or understand scientific facts. They want to claim political opinion as facts, when their FACTS are FAKE.
Deal with the facts. NO one here has denied them.
Those that deny Global Warming cannot deny the facts so they choose to IGNORE facts and instead spew political rhetoric. That is the WORSE kind of denial, denial based on ignorance or omission of facts. The deniers cannot cite facts to bolster their untenable position.

It's pretty easy to, especially for scientists. That's why people end up as liberals.

That's just silly nonsense.
If you could prove empirically that man's activities (.04% of CO2) was causing global warming, that would settle it scientifically.
But, you can't. But by all means, babble on.

Re: Is Global Warming The Greatest Lie In Human History?
More details; study the graphs at the NASA link, please, before offering intelligent comments.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important heat-trapping (greenhouse) gas, which is released through human activities such as deforestation and burning fossil fuels, as well as natural processes such as respiration and volcanic eruptions. The first graph shows atmospheric CO2 levels measured at Mauna Loa Observatory, Hawaii, in recent years, with average seasonal cycle removed. The second graph shows CO2 levels during the last three glacial cycles, as reconstructed from ice cores.
The time series below shows global distribution and variation of the concentration of mid-tropospheric carbon dioxide in parts per million (ppm). The overall color of the map shifts toward the red with advancing time due to the annual increase of CO2.

Re: Is Global Warming The Greatest Lie In Human History?
Carbon dioxide does not make up a large part of the earth's atmosphere, but the relatively large increase of the percentage of CO2 over the past 150 years or so can largely be linked to the industrial Revolution and to man's increasing use of fossil fuel. Simple chemistry: fuel + O2 yields CO2 + H2O
Fuels can be wood (mostly carbon) coal (nearly ALL carbon), and petroleum based fuels that are distilled into hydrocarbons which are basically CxHy, where y = 2x, nearly 2x as much hydrogen as carbon; hydrogen + oxygen = H2O It is the use of carbon based fuels, or fossil fuels, result in MORE CO2 in the atmosphere.
Let me cite the widely accepted scientific consensus (from 2 sources):
Proven, again:
According to the State of the Climate in 2017 report from NOAA and the American Meteorological Society, global atmospheric carbon dioxide was 405.0 ± 0.1 ppm in 2017, a new record high. Between 2016 and 2017, global annual mean carbon dioxide increased 2.2 ± 0.1 ppm, which was slightly less than the increase between 2015 and 2016 (3.0 ppm per year).
In the 1960s, the global growth rate of atmospheric carbon dioxide was roughly 0.6 ± 0.1 ppm per year. Over the past decade, however, the growth rate has been closer to 2.3 ppm per year. The annual rate of increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide over the past 60 years is about 100 times faster than previous natural increases, such as those that occurred at the end of the last ice age 11,000-17,000 years ago.
Why carbon dioxide matters
Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas: a gas that absorbs heat. Warmed by sunlight, Earth’s land and ocean surfaces continuously radiate thermal infrared energy (heat). Unlike oxygen or nitrogen (which make up most of our atmosphere), greenhouse gases absorb that heat and release it gradually over time, like bricks in a fireplace after the fire goes out. Without this natural greenhouse effect, Earth’s average annual temperature would be below freezing instead of close to 60°F. But increases in greenhouse gases have tipped the Earth's energy budget out of balance, trapping additional heat and raising Earth's average temperature.
Carbon dioxide is the most important of Earth’s long-lived greenhouse gases. It absorbs less heat per molecule than the greenhouse gases methane or nitrous oxide, but it’s more abundant and it stays in the atmosphere much longer. And while carbon dioxide is less abundant and less powerful than water vapor on a molecule per molecule basis, it absorbs wavelengths of thermal energy that water vapor does not, which means it adds to the greenhouse effect in a unique way. Increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide are responsible for about two-thirds of the total energy imbalance that is causing Earth's temperature to rise.
ALSO (2nd source):
The atmosphere of Earth is the layer of gases, commonly known as air, that surrounds the planet Earth and is retained by Earth's gravity. The atmosphere of Earth protects life on Earth by creating pressure allowing for liquid water to exist on the Earth's surface, absorbing ultraviolet solar radiation, warming the surface through heat retention (greenhouse effect), and reducing temperature extremes between day and night (the diurnal temperature variation).
By volume, dry air contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen,[2] 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Air also contains a variable amount of water vapor, on average around 1% at sea level, and 0.4% over the entire atmosphere. Air content and atmospheric pressure vary at different layers, and air suitable for use in photosynthesis by terrestrial plants and breathing of terrestrial animals is found only in Earth's troposphere and in artificial atmospheres.

LOL.
When you can build a replica of the solar system and run experiments on it, you can verify your theories.
Empirically and scientifically.

I'm thinking a thread topic something like "ocean plastic, real or fake?" might be a good one.
Course Carlin was probly right, the earth only needed humans to create plastic for it as it didnt have another way, once it has enough it will probly stop producing long enough to shake the human fleas off itself.
