Hello everybody.

Long time member, first time poster.

I'm going on a trip, far away from internet, for a couples of week, and I have game going on.

So if someone wants to pick up on my account to finish these games, I'd be very very happy.

Just three games going on, and with two of those there is a decent possibility for a win.

Thank you very much to the good samaritan who will carry on for me.

I need someone to take on my account starting next thursday, and until Saturday 18th of August.

What does any of that have to do with sitting for someone?

A player that the site ranks significantly better in terms of skill and experience taking over a lower ranked player's games for weeks?

That seems off to me.

Bypassing freemium restrictions? Hell, if I could do this, I'd be a general- "Sorry, I started a bunch of games, and I need my premium friend to finish them..."

That seems off to me.

A mod doing all of the above? Asking other accounts for their passwords in the forums in order to allow people to avoid CC rules on skipping turns?

That seems off to me.

- Happens all the time around here. Inherent problem with sitting in general, not specific to one case. One of the major arguments as to why sitting should not be allowed at all, however, that is a different conversation and would require its own thread. This is one guy asking the community for help, not a policy thread. There are no rank gap restrictions on the site when it comes to sitters. What the OP has done is completely within the current site rules.

- Huh? Wait what? Doesn't even make any sense. There is no "bypassing freemium restrictions." The account sitting for another has no effect on premium status or lack thereof.

- Again, what? Keefie didn't start this, he did not go out and solicit passwords to other accounts. The OP requested a sitter for a specified period of time and Keefie was kind enough to volunteer. No rules were broken here.

Ohhh, I got it, if you really have such an issue with this situation. You, Sym, are low rank, freemium, and not a mod. Sounds like a great fit to me! Right, you didn't volunteer, just came in to criticize the guy who did.

This is kinda BS, I never said that keefie broke the rules, and you know this. I don't think it's fair, and you seem to agree with that, and with my larger issue with making sitting fairer in general.

Woah, I haven't accused anyone of breaking the rules. My argument is akin to criticising exploitation of tax loopholes by the superwealthy. It's not illegal, but that doesn't make it right or fair.

I'd rather see the rules changed to level the playing field, say by applying the rule that people who play in a game and lose miss points. That said, I did see this:

Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, holding players hostage, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new recruits and colluding with other players in any way to manipulate the scoring system.
