llama : farming recent recruits [ka]

Post by mrswdk »

Accused:

[player]riskllama[/player]

Other: farming new recruits on advanced maps

Game number(s):

Game 18231663

Comments:
caught llama trying to "help" a recent recruit by inviting them to a game on Promontory Summit this morning. i find this behaviour appalling - why are NR's even allowed to play on maps like this?

enjoy your 12 pts. , llama... [-(

When the same accusation was leveled at me by llama there was no formal sanction, the game was merely noted for future reference. I therefore do not make this report expecting llama to be formally punished - I would merely like to ensure it is noted for future reference, in case llama's behaviour is ever called into doubt again.

This honestly may be a case, just scrolling through game history and there are many games where he is the only non new player.

Is there evidence that llama contacted the players BEFORE they joined the games he created ? (see PaulatPeace report)

As none has been supplied as evidence then I suspect not.

Yet another spurious report :(

Keefie apparently can't click links or read English language:

And what about the multitude of 1v1 games you joined against NR’s, cadets and 1 stripes? All I’m saying is when you joking so many games against low ranks, this is what happens.

Character witness for the defendant.

I have observed him inviting new recruits to games. I believe his intention is to help them have an enjoyable first game experience.

From interacting on forums and playing occasional casual games with him, I believe it is probable for him to be oblivious of a particular map being too advanced for inviting a beginner.

I believe he could easily have felt he was doing the person some sort of favour inviting them to a friendly game.

Also it has become difficult to fill games here.

I am emotionally neutral towards the case. Valued mods do as you wish.

Honestly, here’s how I see it.

1) No punishment is required as it’s the first time I e seen your name in this thread. Maybe just a warning to mind the games being joined and mindful of whose being invited through global chat.

2) This could actually turn into a Suggestions thread as it’s always a learning experience for CC. Corporal 1st classes and below should be locked from joining games of above ranks and above ranks locked from joining theirs. Almost if not all tournaments have a score requirement anyways these days anyways.

FUI i medal hunt as well, just against players of same or near rank. Only time I ever join lower rank games is when invited by a friend and never after medals/points. Of medal hunting I would suggest doing the same thing that way threads like this don’t happen.

This is truly a very stupid defense of the llama, like people are that stupid..

He said it himself... he's medal hunting. I didn't really check the games, but if you are a high ranked player joining easy setting games vs low rankers, you are not farming... you are giving away points on the long run.
If you're creating very complicated settings inviting new recruits it's another thing. It depends how the luck factor is.

When i medal hunt i join any game, and trust me, that's not for the benefit of one's score. The lower ranked games you join, the more you get yourself into point trouble.

This was Promontory Summit, one of the easiest map to play. Also it was a sunny game and lama was trying to give advice.
Nothing to see.

Though I wouldn't invite a new recruit to a game like that, if the intent is to farm points, that's a poor choice.

This is a spurious report for sure. Mrs is trying to equate her inviting a new recruit to a “guide game” on a very complex map to llama inviting one to a quick game on a very simple map. He told realtimer that he was only playing that map at that time and invited him to play if he wanted to. There was no deception and no intent to abuse a new recruit.

Could this be the new general lee - david hoekstra. We finally got a result against him for ranching. Ie using chat features to offer help on difficult maps ro gain points.

Exactly, eddie. Promontory Summit is a special gameplay map, just the same as Galipoli, Prisonmax or any other. Those are always confusing at first, even to experienced players but especially to brand new ones.
