LIST UPDATED!

SEE NEW LIST UPDATED - Nov. 6th

Please let me know if you see any mistake in that list or if you think we can ameliorate somewhere.

Concise description:
  • I'm looking to know if somebody ever made a list of all CC maps, but listed by thema. If not, it could be a suggestion. ;)

Specifics/Details:
  • The list could be sorted as follow (e.g.) :
    • Geographical
      • Continents
      • Countries
      • Cities
    • Historical
      • WWII
      • Others
    • Fantasy
    • Sports
    • Others
Tell me if you see other possible categories...

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Not for the site directly, but mostly for Tournament Organizers. But when creating Tournaments, it benefits the site. ;)

As far as I know you are the first making such a suggestion.
There has been suggestion to sort maps out by type of game play but not by themes.

i would think size & difficulty would be better "themes" to sort them by.

Thema or theme is not the same? I'm not sure what's the difference beetween the 2 words in english. :D

I have no idea about how / where / how long to code it.
What do you mean exactly? Can you tell me more? What's your idea?

Also, you've seen I kept the number of territs from the initial list and also the gameplay. You was talking about "difficulty", do you want to work on that list?

Instead of just theme if the work is going to be done it should be comprehensive filter to maps. By theme, by style (conquest classic etc) size etc

Yes what's easy works well! ;) I can think about it. But I'm not sure I can be the man of the situation there. Maybe somebody who know all maps better than me....

Ok so By theme, it's almost done, we can add difficulty, then style :
I presume you mean like :
Classics
Maps with starting points
Maps with special conditions for victory.

The discussion about it got lumped into a wider discussion about revamping Game Finder, which I think is part of why it never got done.

Yeah, I have a set of criteria, but no time to work on it.

Maybe I'll just do a blank spreadsheet, and crowdsource it.

I checked your spread sheet, I kind of like it.

I think the Land & Seas (map #132) should go with Geographic/World?

I think this could open with more criteria for ranking those maps, I can see creating drop down menu(s) with all those different thema that you put in your spread sheet.

So from the Statistic tab you could see all map listed by # like it is, and with all the actual columns (except that there is question now about the release date that doesn't seems to match what the Map Fundry & quenched dates are...different topic :D ), and having those drop down menus (main category & sub category) appearing somewhere on the top that would get all the category listed on your sheet, and in a future a map can be categorize to another category that others may have we could add that new category into one of the drop down choices.

Not sure do if those map can be "tag" with such category and to be recognize by the menus....? If yes then it's kind of limitless and many different category can be consider, such as complex to not complex, geographical, map with objective or not, map with starting point, etc...

You're right, this map is alone => done => will be updated with the rest

Actually, it should go in the rubbish bin. That map needs a revamp. Hive is the only map which can legitimately claim alphanumeric territory titles.
