Re: CR@W: the Bannermen [Turn 41 Due Mon Sept 18th]
Announcing the first ever winners of CR@W: the Bannermen!
House of Fire
... and then music rang across the land, and the Bards rejoiced: FIRE has swept the realm!
Thank you to House of Voltron for pledging as bannermen to us. Thank you to our fearless Lords for slaughtering the infidels. Thank you to IcePack for organizing, and to groovysmurf for being so damn groovy!
See you all on the battlefield - best of luck to the last House standing.

Q
A New Age
I. the Bannermen - Houses of the Realm begin diplomacy
II. the Tavern - Houses of the Realm begin autonomous diplomacy / subterfuge
III. the Blessed
IV. the Dead vs the Living
The Dead become stronger and more powerful everyday. The Blessed have started to shower favor upon parts of the Realm. A new level of favors has been made available.
The Undead have spread over the Realm, and have left behind ancient undead Relics scattered across the Realm from ancient battles of the past. Only those who are found to be within the Undead's favor can find them.
The Living deal with a greater imbalance in the Realm. They must adapt or they will lose the Realm to the Undead. In order to combat this balance, the living have found ways to develop and advance in society.
Armies have developed riders capable of moving twice as fast as the regular units (x3 GP per Lord to upgrade)
They have also developed a system of self governance, removing the need to keep Lords within the Castle and City gates for taxation. Their fame, well established by now, is also no longer contigent upon Lords enforcing the rule of law.
Realms of the Livings' Lords may wander free from the original constraints and still collect gold + fame.
New Age FAQ:
Q: Who are the Dead / Living Houses?
A: The "dead" referenced are the Blessed and Favored Houses. They support the Undead cause. The "living" houses are all the cursed houses.
Q: How do the riders work? Can the dead houses get them?
A: No, only cursed houses can have riders. "dead" houses get additional benefits via favors and undead only relics. Living houses get x2 speed and self governance.
Q: Do we have to move two spaces?
A: No, you can move one space if desired.
Q: If we upgrade our units to riders paying 3 GP, then switch to favored, do we get to keep our riders?
A: Sort of, you no longer will be able to use the rider skill. But those units will remain "upgraded" and if you find yourself out of favor later, you will gain your rider movement back on all units that were previously upgraded.
Q: As a house of the living, will you show me on the map if I pass a undead relic?
A: NO, only the houses of the undead (blessed and favored) will EVER be shown undead relics if they travel nearby.
------------
Related to the other game changes, all public and private pages have been updated by removing inactive houses (both "IcePack" inactive, and clans that decided to no longer continue).
All remaining houses are ACTIVE houses. Remember, the goal now is world domination. Last House standing wins (or the end of the year, whichever comes first).

Final notice - Turn 43 is due tonight at 2400 CCT. I will not be processing until morning, though, most likely...so as long as you get them in before I get to you, they'll be counted.

Re: CR@W: the Bannermen [Turn 44 Due Thurs Oct 5 at 23:59 CC
So now the living don't need to keep a lord in their castle to collect the gold.
But what if someone attack an empty castle ?
What if my castles are empty and my clan joined the undead ? I stop collecting gold and need to make lord occupy the castles asap ?
Can a house become blessed ( = undead) unwillingly ?
Did you remove the castles from the inactive house ?

1. Correct
2. Then they take it + the standard portion of gold
3. Correct. And yes, if you want that gold.
4. Clarification, only one house is Blessed (neverland). The Blessed can choose to favor other houses. Yes, they can give favored status to anyone willing or otherwise.
5. Yes

Well since the official winner is Phase 1 winner, Phase 2 last house standing will get the runner up title. The history books is free found here

At the end of the year if there are multiple still around the highest/strongest would be the runner up.

There may be additional prizes added to that list as well...we're still thinking on it. Suggestions are welcome. It's just got to be something that doesn't really involve credits - something "outside the box".

Probably some very involved and complicated formula of all the above that someone very handsome and wise put together just in case.
I guess in order to avoid the uncertainty, you should all strive to kill everyone and make sure that doesn't happen

for strategizing purposes, it would help to know the matrix in advance. objectives for first phase were known from the start.

For strategizing purposes, you want to plan on killing everyone while staying alive. The matrix is known, as the goal here is last house standing
If for some reason we run out of time, than there is a backup plan. But we don’t want people planning their strategy around running out of time. That could encourage clans to sit back and do nothing, instead of being involved, etc.
So the idea here is go kill everyone and win the game by defeating everyone else militarily.

One question that hasn't been asked is this...we (TOFU) are still active. We won the first phase. If we win the 2nd phase (which is theoretically still possible) are we "Champions" and also "Runner Ups", or would that be akin to "Grand Champions?"

I thought of this actually and wasn’t sure the solution. Grand Champions has a nice ring to it.
