Seperate note, due to unforseeable circumstances, I'll be having to play the Seige! games even vs FALL clans. This will be for the forseeable future until I can find a backup option thats roughly equal in experience / skill thats not associated with a clan. But, I promise to play it like any other game and try to win...at this point, its for my own pride I need to win some :D

I have no problem with that.

I know if I was in same situation, I would try to kick my clan mates butts. Bragging Rights brah!

Yeah I think the battle is less important than what happens after the battle. If I win vs my clan to ensure that no favoritism is involved, I'll make sure either a neutral third party (admin or even someone from another clan) either makes the roll to see what happens to the clan lords (so I don't release instead of execute) type thing, or at least verify using video or something that the dice roll is legitimate. Not that I would fake any rolls, but I understand there could be some doubt if somehow the first roll I make releases their lord or kidnaps and the others get executed etc. I promise to be impartial but I'll do what I can to ensure fairness is verified when dealing w my own.

Icepack ... this is your world that we are all visiting ... and as Dungeon Master or GOD of your newly born world ... you do NOT need to explain yourself.

If there are those that wish to second guess your honour or impartiality they can take a real long walk off a really short peer.

When I was younger and was involved with D&D and other Role Playing games, both as player, and DM, we would learn very quickly NOT to question a ruling or the integrity of our Game Master.

This is a really amazing world you have created and as things move forward everything will gradually get ironed out and fall into place. (no pun intended ;) )

Thanks, I appreciate it :) I try to explain the decisions here so people know the reason why if there isn't a rule why do I decide what I did etc. how it makes sense to the story / game mechanic etc

I will do my best to keep things transparent, and do what I can to reassure people regardless of whether I "have" to, I would like to at least do what I can when I'm able.

Icepack, I have no trust issues with you at all - if you say you did such and such, that is good enough for me. No need to go crazy with proving that you did what you said you did. :D

Update #18 completed. Turn 19 has begun.

Clans have until Thursday March 16th @ 2400 CCT to submit their turns. My update wont likely be Thursday night, it'll be on Friday.

If I know that House A = TOFU ( for example)
Then I met House B, and we decide to exchange information, can I tell House B that House A = TOFU ? is it allowed to reveal that information.

All knowledge once learned, in game play, is available for use when bartering and or negotiating with others roaming the realm

This ^. You can't just message someone out of the blue and start learning which Houses people are.
But if you know House A = A, and you meet them, and diplo w them, you can then discuss any Houses that House A or HOuse B has seen / knows / is friends with whatever. But you can't go take that info and PM Clan C, which neither House A or B knows, and use that to try figuring out more people etc.

An Assault against an inactive Clans Castle

Can you please confirm what the Game Settings are for these SIEGE! battles?

Are you going to use the same Settings for your Castle Defence or are you making the various settings random ?

Well, before CR@W I had 33% win rate and thought it was a "good risk" level for those wanting to attack. Originally it was all random but I had 0% wins lol which wasn't enough risk associated w attacking a castle so now I'm tweaking settings to see if I can get closer to the desired risk level. It'll probably always be changing slightly but is no longer full random as it was.

I'm sure you can win some. You are better than you are playing. I suspect, that you aren't inspired enough, while your opponents are very inspired. When I am uninspired my play suffers (see the clan poly challenge for evidence).

I'm sure I can as well, but also I was discussing it w someone if you look at my first 10 opponents, even if I'm a good player, these were some of the best players and may have also had a small amount to do with that initial record :p

I sincerely apologize, but quite a few clans have submitted really involved turns.
I dont think I'm going to get it done today. I've spent 3 hours and gotten through 4 updates....
and looking at the next ones, they aren't much simpler. So, I'm going to keep working on it, but
I'm going to go ahead and call a delay now because I'm 99% sure I'm going to need the saturday to finish
this stuff out. I've updated the schedule accordingly.

Cheers

IcePack,

I have an idea for version's 2 and beyond. I would hate for this awesome game to go away because of the amount of time it takes one person to host.

How about you model subsequent versions after mini-clan leagues.

You cap the number who can play version 2.0 at 9 (or any number that makes sense). The 1st 9 who sign up are in version 2. After that, anybody who signs up is placed into version 3. You may not sign up for version 3+ if you are in version 2 until version 2 has finished and you just keep rolling them over from there.

This will also enable you to recruit some help hosting the game. You can have a team of volunteers that handle the updates whenever their clan is not participating. One volunteer can be in charge of maps, one can be in charge of tracking fame/gold. You can handle diplomacy and coordinate, etc.

Just a thought...

Great suggestion, thanks :) I've added it to my area for review as we get any initial v2.0 discussions underway.
Cheers!

I'm sure it's been posted before but I'll do another / reminder.

Q: How do I talk to the nomad? Just post that I am interested?
A: You must occupy the same square as the nomad (by choice or accident). Adjacent does not allow for the nomad to conduct his business.

Q: If I am otherwise engaged can I conduct business with the nomad (or will it conduct business with me?)
A: No, the nomad needs to be in your square. When he does, he triggers a one turn "diplomatic engagement" in which both parties can not move while he shows off his wares. Per the rules/game mechanism, you can only be in one engagement at a time (military or diplomatic) so if you are otherwise occupied, you can't speak to him and he will pass you by. Nomads don't like conflict, so they want nothing to do with it.

Q: Will a nomad wait for me to get the gold ready?
A: If you encounter a nomad and he conducts diplomacy, you can make him aware of what you would like and how long you expect it will take before you buy it. He will let you know whether or not he will wait around. (Pro tip: he's willing to wait longer for bigger purchases) but the diplomatic engagement continues the entire time (IE if he waits a turn for you, your lord can't go building a city or move and expect him to follow).
