Sorry, I am waiting for an apology from all those who said that my agressive play is unnecessary and unhelpful.
Lets watch the game stall. Oh look it already has.

What a weekend!
So, what's going on, eh?
@Dakky, how do you know that the threats to your nation come from other nations?

I hear ya, good buddy. Clearly this world needs us to keep the wheels of progress turning.
I am hereby making a temporary axis of excellence, based on the representatives of various nations I feel are alright with thus far and welcome to any coalition should they accept. (This list is essentially meaningless, but writing it because I can)
This would be myself, wing, skittles, nag and chu for now.
On the other hand I also have an axis of muppets, people that I will happily execute if no other meaningful alternatives present themselves.
Here are your axis of muppets: Mitch, dakky, tim and ga7.

Everything confuses and enrages me! Raaaargh

As my ship reaches the shores of unkown land I see my friend Dakky aproaching
Declaration of Friendship dakky
not sure why all are keen to jump on dakky,
in few of those game I've played, dakky was always/mostly, linched on day 1 w/o any valid reason
I would rather hear more of him before making him a target

Re: Civilization Mafia - Day 1: The Ancient Era
Well there are a few reasons.
1. Dakky's early game intent to out people for being nations without presenting any evidence towards why this might make them scummy.
2. His before game accusation with Tim. It's as much as he abruptly forgot it as he had the accusation to begin with. It just makes it feel fake.
3. The two parts I bolded in my EBWOP post when I voted him. The first part misconstrues Aage as saying he knows Ghandi is in the game as a serial killer when Aage posed a hypothetical about the matter and basically saying that Aage knows too much and then as Rage pointed out again, the knowing nations as a threat comment. I am town and it does not appear anywhere in my role pm that any nations are necessarily a threat. By saying this, he is expressing knowledge that more than one person have now indirectly come out to say is beyond ordinary town knowledge.
Beyond Dakky, my scum list is pretty flimsy but I'll go ahead and state it for the purposes of discussion:
1. Dakky-see above
2. Tim-mostly for the odd connection with Dakky briefly gone into above
3. Benga-I tend to be skeptical of those who are eager to soft claim/claim early. It is something I've learned to ignore from Dakky (king of day 1 claims) but it can happen readily with a scum who believes they have a strong fake to fall back onto.
4. Skittles-fosing mitch while ignoring that Dakky did something similar.

And no. It's not really a coincidence that 2-4 have in some way connected themselves with Dakky.

so all who connect in some way are scum?
1. not sure if he was joking or not, I didn't take it seriously
2.how does before game count in any way other then as joke vote
3.Skoffin also mentioned ghandi as menace to the wrold I don't really see you jumping on him
4.you are seeing too much into this w/o any valid arguments, I am just refrencing on my past games with dakky
where he went bananas and those bananas came out as civilized one
Re: Civilization Mafia - Day 1: The Ancient Era
Well, I don't know about the Ghandi bit. I read that as a joke fra Aage that dakky just played along with. He did, however, say that his nation is threatened by other nations. Is your nation threatened by other nations, benga?

only if we played hot seat civ
as I understood there are nations and there are barbarians
that's why I rather hear dakky expand more before we acting upon it

In a game of nations, what else can be a threat to a nation except another nation? Actually, my role says so, so that's how I know. I also know there are civilized and uncivilized nations, the later one being a threat.
Also, benga trying to DoF with me is too rushed. Feels like he could be one of those uncivilized nations, especially after he said
benga wrote:as I understood there are nations and there are barbarians
...and we never mentioned exactly barbarians. Paraphrasing the role is possible here, but I'll still wait for a turn or two before accepting the friendship agreement.

It was the weekend. There's a difference between aggressive and insulting.

No. The connection is there because it is a bit odd behavior and you especially are starting to seem like you are defending Dakky a bit.
1. You yourself confirmed that you were Germany so I don't think his rational was completely joking.
2. After roles, before game. It still feels like an act to me.
3. I'm not pointing out those mentioning Ghandi as a threat. I'm pointing out that Dakky misconstrued Aage's Ghandi post which was merely a hypothetical about the possibility of Ghandi being a threat.
As far as Skoffin, undecided. Her behavior is a bit off to me but it appears different than her Pokemon behavior when she was scum.
4. Am I? Because Dakky himself just pointed out that his role pm is different than the one I got. Or would you rather we just ignore discrepancies?

Sometimes differences in PMs can be a good way of hunting down scum.... but sometimes the mods purposefully give different PMs to different people to prevent that from happening. In looking at the role PMs from his game 3 years ago that he just posted in the archives, the opening to win conditions were worded slightly differently, but the main part was the same. So he may have made the win conditions worded differently for different people. Anyone else have experience with how Masket gives out role PMs?
Re: Civilization Mafia - Day 1: The Ancient Era
I am just interested how many of you have actually played civ, cause from what I read here most of you just don't understand references to the game.
There are no uncivilized nations in game, there are nations and there are barbarians.
@stike wolf, so you are saying all of us got the same pm with same roles?

I played civ for a bit but it was some older version and thus don't remember anymore the references to the game. But, that's not excuse as we have internet today. And internet (wikipedia) says:
On each turn, players oversee their civilization's government, determine what technology, culture, and civics the civilization should develop, engage in diplomacy with other civilizations, set production and place improvements within cities, and move their civilization's units across the game's world map, often engaging in combat with other civilizations' enemy units.
So the barbarians if they exist in this flavor of the game are just uncivilized nations. The question remains, why did you use that exact wording.
Re: Civilization Mafia - Day 1: The Ancient Era
I mean we're not playing a Civ game, we're playing a Civ Mafia game, so wording and theme can be different from what was seen in Civ series, but still if you're unaware of your win condition, or it says kill barbarians instead of uncivilized countries, that's what Strike was after I think.

Well also the main point of Civ is to take out all of the other civs or win by being more scientific/cultural/religious. It could be that some of our civs view some of the other civs as 'uncivilized.' Like the romans could view norway as uncivilized for basically being a bunch of vikings.

Came up this almost immediately after I posted that last bit, but since civ is usually a free for all maybe that's what this game is? The whole civilized vs uncivilized is just a flavor way of saying 'beat all of the other civs'.
Re: Civilization Mafia - Day 1: The Ancient Era
Guess we all have different objectives then, maybe that's all the part of FFA.

Interesting, are you saying there might not be any town and we're all on our own?
Re: Civilization Mafia - Day 1: The Ancient Era
It's entirely possible. I've been trying to figure who the 'uncivilized' people are and this is the answer that clicks the most for me. The most likely choices for 'uncivilized' are:
1.Barbarians
2.A few random civs were chosen to be the 'mafia'
3. We are all 'uncivilized' compared to each other so we are all trying to compete for solo victory.
If it's the first option the barbarians probably just kill someone each night instead of building stuff.
If it's the second option it's a group of civs that act like us but essentially have a secret alliance.
If it's the third option then what we build at night directly correlates on how we can protect ourselves/further ourselves towards (likely) solo victory and what we do during the day is probably figure out the strongest person and lynch them.

I'm saying that when one claims to have gotten more information than others who are of town, particularly information that in some way connects to win con, it is worth noting. Why did he get this information?
My role pm didn't actually specify barbarians or uncivilized nations.
