Surrender button?

Post by sleepykarly »

It can take a ridiculous amount of time to tidy up a trench game, even when one player has an unshakable dominance.

I suggest that trench games should have the option of a 'capitulation' once there are only two players left. I imagine this would not be difficult to program.

Take the following players in WW2:

France, Netherlands, Denmark, Siam etc.: started losing, hit the surrender button, went down without a struggle
Russia, the UK, China: started getting merked on by the Axis powers, took enormous amounts of damage, never gave up and eventually managed to form an alliance that enabled them to come back from the brink and win
Germany and Japan: kept on fighting went things got tough, went down hard like heroes

And that is why a surrender button should never be made available within any game on CC.

Thanks for bringing this up. It seems that after the outcome is obvious players are on the losing side they are slow to make moves. The player taking over 20 hours per turn is rarely seems to be the one who has more troops and territories. Wouldn't it be in everyone's best interest to have a way to end some of these games (especially trench or those with no spoils) as quickly as possible rather than dragging them out?

Flip the table button?

I want a scatter the board button. Then after someone eliminates you for no good reason you can end the game for the rest of the players. They will be less likely to gang up on us low ranks then.

Or a new spoil color that causes the person acquiring it to get eliminated immediately. Could have like a 0.5% chance of picking it, to keep it rare and exciting.

Dick move, Duk. You could at least have directed SK to fill out the form, or done it yourself so it wouldn't just be troll bait. You know that a surrender button has been discussed over and over-

http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1313#p1313

This ain't a surrender button suggestion in general, but a suggestion regarding ending long trench games.

=D>

What happens when frustration kicks in at the dice going awol in a couple of games and you get people dropping points like a prostitutes knickers?
or at the end of the month when your considering attempting the most improved score award the following month?
as much as I want to surrender in a few games there are many reasons i'd have to say, NO

Lord Arioch, would you care to develop on the possible abuse you see for a surrender button given those requirements :

surrender button can only be used in 1vs1 game.
surrender button can only be used after round 10.

I still think there should be a small % chance of collecting a spoil that instantly eliminates you from the game.

I agree completely! It's horrible to have 100 armies against 1 and thee are 4-5 spaces blocking them from finishing you off.... It's absurd. Surrender option! then the other player has the option to "accept" or "reject" your surrender....
