Actually, they hold a small amount of real money value! Or at least potential value. I realize it's a long road, so they are almost worthless... But there are tournaments in signups that feature stars at entry fees, with prizes in credits or 'better color stars' if you win. And there are tournaments you can sign up to today that require credits as entry fees, with prizes in amazon gift cards up to $300. So... if you play your stars right you just might end up winning much more than your yearly membership fee.
Examples:
a)
https://www.conquerclub.com/player.php?mode=autotournament&tournament_id=4921 b)
https://www.conquerclub.com/player.php?mode=autotournament&tournament_id=4318 P.S.
This being an informative and positive post, probably deserves a primary color star.

i asked in another thread but maybe here is better. Whats the reason for the stars? What are ya supposed to do with them? Only stars I remember recieving were in kindergardn when a teacher would say "good job" and put a gold star on a piece of paper. After reading the thread people obviously want them for some reason, can somebody tell me why? Thx

And if they really suck you can send them to Dallas.

Your excellent and informative answer, was way too long for interneters to read. They probably did not even attempt it.
