There is a reason Tim and dakky get lynched early in most games, and the start of today is a good reason as to why.... somehow they always look suspicious. Of the two, I don't see anything unreasonably about dakky's naming of team rocket, but tim's trying to call him out on it was definitely weird. (however, it being tim I won't vote him on it yet...)

Since virtually everyone wanting to play is already in the game, you might have to bend your rule a little if you want a sub. Benga has played on here before, I guess just not in a game you were in also

I will vouch for Benga being a decent player. Doesnt post mega often, but will post essays infrequently.

Just seen that Hotshot is in this game. Unvote vote Hotshot. Scumarines as scum. Scumarines as town. Easier just to lynch him now. Tim and Dakky do this every game, even if I think Tim may have truly slipped this time.

Dakky you being suspicious of my FOS... does that mean you aren't trying to get lynched? :P

Tim is suspicious for the above mentioned reasons. Kind of a red flag to question the existence of Team Rocket. However, since it's still early and I promised myself at the end of the last game that I will second and triple guess myself before voting tim or mitch until I can understand them better, I won't vote.

Skittles! wrote:Idk if they are new to mafia or just not sure how to go about discussing who may be the baddie here (obvs Team Rocket and whoever leads them), but it just seems suss.

This here seems (to me at least) even more suspicious than Tim. Assuming anything concrete about factions in a non standard game is scummy at worst and dangerous at best. There's been mentions of pokemon, trainers, and team rocket so far. That's at least 3. I can't help thinking that this is an attempt to gain early town credit for future use.
Unvote Vote Skittles

He lives like two doors down from you. Just go to his house and play mafia and then let him sub.

new guy1 wrote:My main suspect, if serious votes were to start, would be Tim due to the clash of his emotions compared to when he jumped on dakky (even messed up his name in his haste to jump on him about the mention of Team Rocket) and then as Serbia said, just kind of nonchalantly walked it back as a "pushing his buttons" kind of tactic, which he gave up after dakky made one post. He didn't make any effort to bring it back up to confirm his theory that dakky was dodging the question, not just forgetting to mention it. The two situations seemed conflicting in an odd way. I'm still getting used to dakky, but I came up on this forum in a time when pushing past the joke votes of day 1 to start into serious talk immediately was normally frowned upon, so his pushing past joke voting is something that I take into account, though I'm not sure what to make of it due to not playing enough games with him. It just rubs me wrong, not enough for a vote or fos, because nobody has challenged it as being outside of his meta, but enough to mention for my reference.

Vote Tim due to the above reasoning, and because I'm unsure as to if the joke vote phase has ended or not. It's kind of in that twilight period where half the players are talking seriously and the other half are still clinging to joke voting.

You and dakky are missing the point. It doesn't matter what "they" think. It matters what you think.

---------------

On Team Rocket in the game: if you read the rules, it says all role claims are suicidal. They probably have some people they are gunning for specifically and there are probably people that are gunning for them specifically. I am going to guess that's how all the roles are set up.

Tim and Dakky do look suss for the previously mentioned reasons, such as Tim supposedly trying to illicit a reaction from the other but then backing down from it immediately before that reaction is even given, and Dakky for his odd aggressive posting style. However, with how quick multiple people were to come out to essentially go 'oh yeah, it's totally one of these guys' it does feel a bit like there may be scum in there wanting to throw suspicion in one potentially easier direction for them. Particularly as Tim reads as a weaker player who can't clearly get a point across, so he'd be far less able to defend himself down the line.

As for Fircoal, voting the mod/Mandy is stereotypical behaviour for him and he would do it regardless of what his alignment might be, and it wasn't uncommon joke votes back in the day when a lot of us played; therefore this is not a good indicator of any scumminess on his part.

Sorry Sir, but you are wrong. There were some decent pokemon after Gen 2 (Gogoat!) but it mostly has not been the same. Pretty much all the legendaries after then have been garbage, too. Just accept it. :ugeek:

This is a good question.

I'm not sure I understand your point about Skittles; which part of his comment was an assumption about factions? Could you clarify?

As for Serb, apparently he was just a rage filled character back in the day. Now if only Tonka truck were here, now that was some rage XD

You might be unfamiliar with some of my work in the main forums - I am an occasionally aggressive, rage filled poster. This comment therefore actually had little to do with mafia, and everything to do with my recent posting habits here on CC.

Tim does come across as a little bit noobish, and is expressing himself poorly:
TimWoodbury wrote:Reason i gave up so to say on dakky is because he ignored the question so no reason right now to keep hounding on a simple thing. Like i said in my last one im currwntly giving dakk a pass because he currently claims keyword here is claims to be looking for and hunting rockets

TimWoodbury wrote:Awww thank you hotshot how nice to give benafit of tje doubt. Funny how the 1 game i try to get lynched i failed to secure it but every game i trynot to i manage to get lynched so maybe i need to start trying to be lynched to be kept alive idk

That being said, look at the underlined, and the bold in particular. We have been told claims of any kind will be suicidal. And interestingly, Tim tries to get dakky to claim in the earliest hours of Day 1. This could be purely coincidental, and reckless, or could be a genius scum tactic - Tim, being Rocket himself, has identified a target for himself and his scum buddies.

I went back and re-read, and will share the actual order of events here:
dakky21 wrote:And btw Serb, you are allowed to voted mandy, but that would be scummy just as is DY's voting Confirm. Actually, even mentioning you'd vote Mandy is scummy. If you don't care who will you vote, then you must be Team Rocket. I'll keep my vote on DY's joke confirm but you're the serious candidate now for something more real.

TimWoodbury wrote:Doom why mention team rocket who says they even in the game are you team rocket??

So in reality, it was DAKKY who automatically accused me of being Rocket. Tim followed it up with a question, which once ignored he let lie. My opinion? With Tim, I think it more likely he was legitimately asking the question, then moving on. With dakky, I'm not as confident. Maybe HE'S the Scum Genius immediately looking for a claim, since he's the one who actually brought it up. He's also the one who revenge voted me (scummy) and is throwing suspicions around like party favors, which also feels reckless and scummy. For now, my vote stands.

Where was Pokemon roles mentioned? I assumed it would all be trainers. Then again my memory of the Indigo series is very fuzzy. I know there've been loads of trainers introduced over the years but perhaps there weren't that many way back then.

So you are a trainer? Well golly gee. Let's put a big ol' target on you... Or maybe not. Maybe we are all trainers. But what you just said guarantees you are 1) lying to get info or 2) admiting your role... I don't like either choice.

Original series, the main trainers are Ash, Brock and Misty, then you have Team Rocket and various gym leaders/noobs they meet in standalone episodes.

Either way it seems like you are soft claiming a trainer, which is a slight mistake on your part, but not necessarily scummy.

I am going to vote Serbia as all Serbians should be considered suspicious in Trump's new America.

Are you joking? Or serious?

Did you want me to add content less than 5 minutes after I had already made a post? Go check the timestamps, I voted Hotshot literally moments before.

Do you know what is also outright scummy? Making a post to look like you have been reading the thread. It stands out when you have mucked up and not actually read anything.
