PM if you need to, llama, but try to keep it civil here. We cool on that front, at least?

Symmetry wrote:Would cancelling the game, as long as the other players agreed be a viable option?
Seems like a possible compromise if the game was unfairly affected due to a natural disaster.
Not a solution, of course- but, perhaps something worth considering.
that would get us back into the whole, "SURRENDER BUTTON" debacle from the birth of the site. we don't want that... oh wait, aren't they testing that on the BETA site? sigh..
Hmm, not sure what you're getting at here.
let's see... the user wondered if there was a way to CANCEL the game. that seems ONE STEP AWAY from a SURRENDER BUTTON. can you make that leap? can you take that step in logic? good... good... just use your brain, it won't hurt long... the black jesus has spoken...-Bj work those brain muscles!!!

Nobody here has suggested anything like Hitler, Surrender buttons, or whatever. You don't need to freak out here. Just talk to me on the usual fora if you genuinely feel that you haven't been addressed satisfactorily
Is that a reasonable solution that we can both work with?

Congrats, you got me. The gloating was crass though.

a one month bump about turns during a hurricane, that has been over... a user that came up with some odd hitler reference out of nowhere... i don't think you need to archive it, i think you just have to hope that DSOIV stops bumping it...-Jésus noir
p.s.-who knew the foe feature was so amazingly nice?!! the forums are once again enjoyable for me...

Seems a bit insensenitive, mate. Can I take a wild guess and suggest that you're probably not from an area that gets hit by natural disasters?
You know why I posted it? Because you didn't, to point out that doing this stuff for every natural disaster is unfeasible. I think I even skipped the earthquake in Italy?

I didn't post and don't post every natural disaster here because it's not a thread for that. You don't need to post for me, buddy.
Thing is, back when I was teaching in Japan, my first school was a feeder school for one of the biggest orphanages in a city devastated by an earthquake. I really don't see why CC members can't help out a fellow member when stuff like that happens.
It seems like common decency.

To be honest I thought you were OP when I posted it who argued that it was a reasonable request, but upon reading back the first page of this thread you were one of posters with alternate ideas trying to find common ground. I'm sorry, I was wrong, but I hope you also see why I (wrongly) posted this in the first place.
i need my turn length increased, there is a 45% chance for thunderstorms this evening in texas. how long do these suggestions take to be approved and implemented? i need this done ASAP!
thank you...-Bj

Apology fully accepted. Bad things do happen around the world, and I think that an empathic solution is doable.
I'm not sure what TPTB can do really. I sometimes think that they're arguing against a good point with bad arguments simply because they don't want to say that it's right, but difficult.

Deleted a couple off topic posts. I'll re-open the thread in a day or so and hope that when people come back they restrict themselves to on-topic posts.
