Okay, here's where we stand at present.

The following 23 have confirmed:
Dukasaur
Fewnix
TheTrueNorth
TX AG 90
GreenBaize
Swimmerdude99
Rousseau72
Osman76
Kambodia
Colonel Krink
Happyfeet
molespe
bobzimmerman
Nolefan5311
virus90
lordlau1
general cod
hutchkov
therhino3
itake
bearshark3
u suck
Suppurator

The following are unconfirmed:
jigger1986
PereiroSaus
pindary
spudulica
uyumaykimaw
VicFontaine

jigger1986, despite being the overall best performer in this series, has declined to play...:(

PereiroSaus and spudulica seem to have left the site, so we won't bother with them.

That leaves pindary, uyumaykimaw, and VicFontaine, who have neither confirmed nor refused participation. I'll write to those three one last time, and after 24 hours we'll go to step 2.

Sorry, been very backlogged, both in R/L and online. An update is coming this weekend.

Step 2: those with more than one win get a second spot.

[spoiler=step 2]The following 25 have confirmed (those in green have a second spot):
Dukasaur
Fewnix
TheTrueNorth
TX AG 90
GreenBaize
Swimmerdude99
Rousseau72
Osman76
Kambodia
Colonel Krink
Happyfeet
molespe
bobzimmerman
Nolefan5311
virus90
lordlau1
general cod
hutchkov
therhino3
itake
bearshark3
u suck
Suppurator
uyumaykimaw
VicFontaine

The following are unconfirmed:
jigger1986
PereiroSaus
pindary
spudulica

jigger1986, despite being the overall best performer in this series, has declined to play...:(

PereiroSaus and spudulica seem to have left the site, so we won't bother with them.

Pindary failed to confirm after numerous reminders.[/spoiler]

That leaves us at 31 of 32 slots filled.

Step 3 is useless because jigger1986 declined to play.

That brings us to Step 4
Dukasaur wrote:[*]If step 3 leaves us with less than 32, then those players with less than 2 wins but 2 or more medals by virtue of a GA medal will get a 2nd spot. If there are more players in this category than spots, I will have a special play-in round to determine who gets those spots. The format of the play-in round will depend on exactly how many spots need to be filled

There are six players on the confirmed list who have a GA but not a second win:
hutchkov
Kambodia
lordlau1
Nolefan5311
therhino3
uyumaykimaw

Okay, play-in round starts now. I'll do an all-play-all for those six, and we'll see how it goes after that. Hopefully no tiebreaker needed, but if so it will be a single game with all of the tied players in it.

Guys, I screwed up LARGE. In the original post, I specified that Rounds 1 and 2 would be best-of-three. But then, I was so much in the habit of making these tourneys with 1-game rounds, that's what I did.

Dukasaur wrote:what I'm thinking is:
  • a 32-player 1v1 tournament structured the same way as the rest of the series, but with more games. Best-of-3 first and second round, best-of-five third round, best-of-seven fourth round, best-of-11 final.

Round 1 should have been best-of-three, not single games. You are all owed two more games for each matchup in Round 1. I should not have scored it as I did, I should not have started Round 2.

The Round 2 games you got yesterday are invalid. Everyone is getting 2 more Round 1 games per matchup. Very sorry for the error.

Games 2 and 3 in everybody's Round 1 matchup have been sent.

Hits happen. Given the tremendous amount of tourneys you run, and usually run so well, its surprising there are not more glitches
:D

Appreciate all that you have done, are doing and will do.

thank you

The only fair way to do this is to make ALL the Round 2 that games that were sent invalid.

Some of you may face the same people when the correct round 2 is sent out in a couple of weeks. However, it would be unfair to let some people keep their result and others not. Therefore, ALL the games that were sent on January 5th are nullified.

Round 2 games have been sent out. For real this time.

Congrats to everyone continuing on. A few results changes as a result of the re-start. Most stayed the same.

At last this long voyage is over. 33 tournaments, starting on January 5th, 2013, and ending April 6th, 2017, a span of 51 months, has led us to here. In a close-fought, best-of-11 battle, [player]lordlau1[/player] vanquished [player]u suck[/player] by the very close score of 6-5.

Congratulations Lordlau1!!!!!

You can pretty much call yourself the best of the best in 1v1 Baltic Crusades.

To the rest of you, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Just becoming eligible to join this tournament means you either won an earlier tournament or at least managed some feat to get a GA. It's been a gathering of the best here. Thank you all for joining, thank you all for playing, thank you all for the support and generous compliments that you've given me throughout this tournament series.
