Update

Round 4 Set 1 is mostly finished, and we finally move into the last set before the finals of the tournament.

Great-Ollie has disappeared from the site, making it our fourth straight round with a deadbeat in the middle of a round, unfortunately... hopefully that will change in the finals. That does mean there is less competition for the final 5 spots though, a plus point for the rest of our contenders.

Round 4 is shaping up to be as unpredictable as the previous rounds - JPlo64 vacates the top spot and slips out of the top 5 for the first time since Round 1. He didn't manage to get any wins in Set 1, and currently sits at 6th with 79.0 points and 47 kills. Ukey wastes no time in reclaiming his spot at the top of the competition, with 114.9 points and 45 kills, almost 20 points ahead of the next contender. Meanwhile, goldenwarrior makes quite the leap as he rises from second to last (16th) to second place, with 95.8 points and 32 kills. Prior to this, he had never ranked higher than 9th; but he has certainly picked the right time to shine!

shoop76 maintains his position in 5th, with 82.0 points and 39 kills; while donche64 and MudPuppy make their returns to the top 5, after briefly leaving the region after Round 2; they displace Kambodia and overlander, both of whom faced tough luck in their games, like JPlo64.

Needless to say, nothing is set in stone. With the huge amount of changes still going on, it's anybody's game. Who will get those points when they're needed most? Good luck!

The last game of Round 4 finally ended a few days ago while I was overseas. The finalists are confirmed - but I'll send out games and do the update when I'm free!

Update

After many months, we are finally in the finals of the tournament; and Round 4 proved to be the most exciting fight to get there.

In the greatest upset in the tournament so far, JPlo64 barely missed out on the finals, coming in 6th with 103.0 points and 52 points, just 1.3 points behind the last finalist. Additionally, goldenwarrior and shoop76 both slipped out of the top 5, ending 7th and 11th respectively after failing to score any points in Set 2.

Meanwhile, a new player crowns the top of the leaderboard, as donche64 jumps to 1st after a spectacular performance in Set 2, with a current total of 154.3 points and 54 kills. Ukey slides to 3rd but clinches a spot in the finals to fight for pole position, along with MudPuppy.

Kambodia squeaks into the finals with a mere 1.3 point lead, as reported above, after a brief departure from the top 5; while uckuki rounds out the top 5 with a sudden surge to 2nd place, with 136.1 points and 36 kills. This is uckuki's first appearance in the top 5, previously placing 22th, 10th and 7th in previous rounds, finally rising to the top 5 when it counts.

Games for the finals have been sent out, with Set 1 consisting of everyone's home games. Set 2 will consist of a random selection of 5 settings from previously eliminated players in the tournament, and should be sent out as each other game is finished. Good luck!

With 5 games complete, we are halfway through the finals.

uckuki currently sits in the winning position, with 97.1 points and 42 kills. The competition is far from over though, as every player is still within striking distance of the top spot, and Ukey still has his home game that hasn't been factored in - a game which has been highly reliable for him thus far.

Will uckuki be able to maintain his steady rise, and keep his lead; or will Kambodia rise to the top after entering the finals at the back of the pack? Will Ukey sweep his home game en route to claiming the pole position he once laid claim to in Round 1; or will donche64 repeat his stellar come-from-behind performance of Round 4 to claim the top prize? Or might MudPuppy's consistency pay its dividends, as he pulls out all the stops in this last stretch? It's still anyone's tournament to win, at the moment.

Update

After close to 10 months of battling, the tournament has come to a close. It was truly a nail-biter till the finish, as there was no clear winner till the very last game was completed. As a testament to the high quality of players in our finals and how equally matched they are, three of our finalists managed to grab hold of points in the range of the 50s for the finals itself! But in the end, there could only be one winner.

With a clean sweep in the final game, uckuki achieved exactly what he needed to push him from 3rd to 1st in the final moments of the tournament, edging out Ukey and Kambodia with a final tally of 117.1 points and 46 kills. The results were so close that less than 3 points separated our winner from the runner up, Ukey, who came in with 114.5 points and 57 kills.

Pulling out the results when it's needed is certainly something uckuki has been used to, as shown by his performance in previous rounds. It's interesting to note that he has the lowest total kill count of the 5 finalists, but that shouldn't take anything away from his win. He has continually stepped up his game with each progressive round, as the competition around him got tougher and tougher, having a continually increasing score for each round prior to the finals.

Truly a clutch performance by Uckuki, my hat's off in admiration (with a smidge of jealousy and a healthy dash of frustration).

Uckuki's performance was only outdone by our tourney host, Anamainiacks. I can't remember a more enjoyable, challenging, well-constructed, and well-run tournament. And as others have mentioned, Anamainiacks updates alone are worth the price of admission. Thank you!
