Are we in the Antropocene Epoch?

Post by DoomYoshi »

Many scientists have suggested that our geological epoch should be named after the fact that humans are making an impact. However popular this designation is, it still isn't official. What do you think?

When the white man first went to the Americas, they killed (purposefully as well as inadvertently) most of the Native Americans causing mass reforestation of the Americas. This caused the CO2 in the atmosphere to drop, but its been downhill (as in, rising) since then. Many are worried about the political ramifications of declaring an Antropocene epoch but I think it's entirely rational that murdering citizens of the Americas is a way to stop Climate Change. Let's start with Linda.

I'm sure Trump wants to start with the mexicans.

OT: Anthropocene seems like a fitting name, but what are the "political ramifications of declaring an Anthropocene epoch"? Other than republicans in denial going berzerk.

She looks like she used to be a cheerleader in high school. Now she's mid-30s and probably doesn't give any to her overweight husband, is probably uptight and judgemental, but is secretly fucking her neighbor's high school aged son.

She's a monster!

It could be totes normal for the earth to constantly transmutate from ice age back to fire age and then back again

If you substitute "interglacial" for "fire age," then yes, it is totes normal. It is just not totes normal for major climatic shifts to happen because of human industrialization. This would be the first time for that.

That's the number #1 question that I always come back to on the issue. How do you know, how do we know these things? I have to ask because isn't it also true 'this' is also the first time we've had official studies, digital temperature readouts, satellite images and data etc etc etc? We can't really compare today's measurements measuring today to the same method 200, 400, 10,000 years ago. Isn't this really the first chunk of significant time we've been able to record and document the climate changes? How is it was even know the change in climate has been major? Major according to who... certain human beings based on their own individual fear and guilt factors? What about the earth's experiences and opinions on just what is actually 'major'? Also, if human beings have indeed shifted the climate in a major way this time, what was the cause for the previous hundreds of major climatic shifts?

But what I find most atrocious about your statement is the Atlantis denial

The Halocene epoch is also known as the Clovis Comet which got that name by making on impact on the Clovis people (ie wiping them out), which were the original native Americans. The conquered people you refer to are/were direct descendants of the yellow man, they just happened to first come to the new world over land from the other side. I'd also state that all throughout history conquered people were usually if not almost always killed or enslaved.

plus, even if 10,000 Aztecs could have defeated 490 Spainyards on horseback, the 'native American' Aztecs were not only murdering their fellow 'native Americans' for lack of wealth (food mostly), they forced them to stand in lines for hours and wait for their hearts to be ripped out of their chests while still beating.... just to prove to everyone else that they controlled the sun and the moon (ie the heavens) and pull off the lie of all lies, that they were Gods and science wasn't important otherwise the masses would know an eclipse is natural and not the end of the world it was pumped up to be. Curiously noting how little has changed :(

It's an interesting thought to instead of how many conquered people were killed to wonder how many 'native Americans' were saved directly by Jesus Christ and indirectly by monotheism and animal sacrifice as a preferred voice to the Gods over human sacrifice. Imagine if the white man had built a massive temple to not only celebrate murder but in the name of exploitation, oh my how how they oh my how unforgiveable! Oh, the people in the America's had already done that??? I guess it's totes kewl then. Imagine how many heads rolled down these temple walls.... Imagine the street literally gorged with blood flowing like the salmon of Capistano

If you're interested in the science, you can find the official surface temperature data, measured annually since 1880 here:
https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/cag/time-seri ... /1880-2016

Past temperature data can be measured through the fossil record, for example with the thickness of calcium carbonate shells being dependent on temperature, as well as from ice core measurements, please see:
http://www.giss.nasa.gov/research/briefs/schmidt_01/

For your question of how we know the recent temperature spike has been major, NASA has a page here that you will find helpful:
http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

I believe the term Athropocene is distasteful as it discriminates against sentient automobiles.

This sentient, carbon emission-free automobile would beg to differ:

I think she s having trouble raising her children. Dave has a rare dysfunctional syndrome, while Anny is jealous about all the attention her older brother is being given.
And as we all know Ted is a terrible husband

His hours got cut down at the plant, and now he doesn't work enough to get the benefits package, which Dave really needs. Linda won't work because she's the entitled cheerleader, so Ted is worried about the future. He's taken to drinking a lot. He hasn't hit her, but Anny has taken to cutting herself because her parents are always yelling at each other. Davey recently has had some anger issuesn especially against blonde women, since during one argument between Ted and Linda, he heard his mom call his dad a small-dicked loser who can't get it up.

the thing is that Dave saw his mom blowing the neighbour's kid in the back yard, but since he's retarded he can't even express it. But he's more hyperactive than ever!

the neighbours being..... ESMERALDA'S SISTER'S FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!! That's why Saxi is so upset!!!!!!!
