Bollocks.
Couple of reasons- it artificially suggests that there's a load of active discussion in a thread, when actually it died a death long ago.
And Phatscotty used it to bump a load of threads by a single author, then claimed that that poster should be banned for spamming the forums with the same topic. Owen tried something similar with me recently.
