wonder if it will ever top 1000 again?
In the past two month (Jan - Feb) 600-700+ is pretty regular during the day. It dips to 300-500 at evening/night (CC Time). We broke 800 not to long ago (820?)
Whatever you do, dont give any indication that people actually come to this site and play conquer club, it may upset the forum trolls. After all, we need to maintain the illusion of a sinking ship, otherwise we would have nothing to talk about.
Pirlo wrote: Oh, thank you for the warm welcoming. I'd also appreciate it if someone could explain to me the concept of tribes, and what's the difference between them and clans?
Hey Pirlo! Welcome back If you ever have questions about Tribes you can contact Lindax anytime, who runs that section for us. The basic concept is that it's a place where tribes and / or clans can compete in 1vs1 or poly auto tournaments or wars as a team, while clans continue to be centered around team games / wars & leagues. A tribe is just another grouping of players similar to a clan, but focused on the 1vs1/poly stuff. A clan is its own tribe, so they can compete in traditional stuff or new tribe stuff with players within their clans. Cheers, IcePack
Thanks, this sounds pretty cool. So if I want to win a tribe war, I'll need to check with my clan-mates to see if they are having one running or coming and plan to join. Am I understanding it correctly?
Thanks again, IcePack, and all of you, even el Jesus Negro!

Come on, bro.. look around you and admit it, it's not fun to acknowledge someone's success just like that. It's in our DNA to criticize and express dissatisfaction, isn't it?

I dont disagree with you, haters are gonna hate.
True, I had some threads asking for people's experiences of the site becoming less homophobic after using the word "gay" became no longer a ban-worthy offence. The site is far more inclusive now, but you'd be surprised at the bans that are still in force, and the hostility from older players to the change.

I have been a paid member in 2010, 2013, and joined again recently. Regardless of what the overall numbers are saying, the gameplay has diminished since 2013 when it comes to speed games. A lot of this has been alluded to, but it is much more difficult to get a normal speed game going (Classic board, or even Doodle Earth, World 2.1, Midgard, Peloponnesian, etc) without a lot of crazy rules.
For me personally, it isn't a huge issue as I am familiar enough with most of the concepts although there are even more gameplay options. However, if I was a new member just looking to play some Risk it would be a huge turnoff as far as sticking around or becoming a paid member if I had to learn every crazy rule and map just to find a game.
I remember tourneys filling within a week back in the day...now I toss up a new tourney and it sits there for weeks waiting to fill. Frustrating.
And those auto tourneys ... they are awful. Poorly conceived. Trust your people to do a stellar job...don't put it into the hands of bots.
Current tourneys -- 2025 High School Football, 2025 NFL season, 2025 Little League World Series, Punch Out Boxing, Down Under, 2025 MLS season, 2025 MLB season, 2025 WNBA, 4 Star Meats Best of 7.

I remember when new, exciting, and original tournaments were being made. Anytime I've looked recently it's just the same boring ones over and over or map series bracket stuff that the auto tournament handles fine.
It used to be worth it to go check out the community tournament area, now....

Simple brackets were always the most popular type of tournament and probably always will be. Nonetheless, fancy and creative tournaments are not dead. There is some very nice stuff on a regular basis.
It's like going to a bar. Draft beer will always be the #1 seller, but that doesn't mean you can't find a Chocolate Monkey or a Singapore Sling if you're looking for one.

That's true, but there used to be plenty of both. Look at it now and it's 99% repetitive with the odd surprise thrown in. If I want simple bracket I'd use auto tournaments.
But clicking thru 25 boring tournaments to find one that's interesting isn't that exciting of a prospect.

last time i tried to do an unusual tournament it didn't fill.... generic unusual tournament never had that trouble with a bracket or round robin style. actually i usually do a round robin ---> bracket. auto tourneys don't do that.
also, i don't do auto-tournaments because all the screwball jumbled up settings. i really only enjoy about 3 different sets of settings, and could care less about playing trench or parauchute or all those other zany types.
also, i don't play auto-tournaments because the last one i won i got nothing but an orange star. since that i''ve gotten dozens of orange stars for just logging on. what a drag.
recently i started a tournament giving the players settings choice. they basically all stayed with the original settings offered from about 5 years ago. with the slight exception of trench. out of 22 players i think about 4 chose trench.

I'm interested in a response to my question in the other thread, I don't know why the decline exactly or have preconceived notions of what caused it (tho I have some theory). But just in reading the different sides, it's the biggest question / discrepancy I see in both the arguments.
