Time-lapse of Game Map

Post by jholter »

I'm thinking it's time we make a "time-lapse" map function available for each game.

If we can get some smart programmers involved, I don't think it would be too difficult to integrate a "time-lapse" function for each game. I'm imagining a series of buttons below the map: play, pause, stop, fast-forward, rewind, etc. (maybe speed setting). Basically, by using the same code that generates the "Game Log" you are able to reconstruct every turn and watch all the Rounds play out on the game map in a matter of seconds. Essentially, imagine a weather map (e.g. from weather.com) that plays out radar readings over time

I think this would be a really great feature, with lots of upside and little cost to the servers, etc.

Anyone interested in making this happen? Any programmers out there? :?:

Hi, I appreciate the suggestion, this is in the wrong forums though. We currently have suggestions to create a feature like this that will hopefully be discussed in length soon.

what an original idea... for the 232nd time... this time, we have the pleasure of having it posted in the GD instead of in SUGGESTIONS, where it belongs and where similar suggestions have rotted away since CC's first year... Good luck with this!! in before the lock/move...-Jésus noir

Contrary to others, I don't think this should go to the 'suggestions' section, but the 'third-party tools & enhancements' section might help you in this regard. It's difficult to get through the CC suggestions, but this seems do-able for the tech team.
