[player]uckuki[/player] is looking for an assistant!
[player]uckuki[/player] has volunteered to run the Traditional 1vs1 Clan Challenge Event and a new 1vs1 Poly Event! Now he is looking for someone to assist him to help these events run smoothly.
Generally this would go into sign ups in March or April, start in May(ish) and run until complete (generally 4-8 months depending on # of sign ups and any scheduled breaks).
To volunteer to help assist this Tournament, please contact [player]uckuki[/player] directly. A organizer medal will be issued to anyone who successfully helps completes the Event as an Organizer. Organizer assistants should be active, responsible, fair and patient, and be good at taking direction and finally scheduling will be decided once his plans are underway.

Welcome to the Clan Tournaments Area, where you will find updates on all the Sanctioned Tournaments within Conquer Clubs Clan Area! [player]Lindax[/player] is our Clan Tournament Director who brings you this update!

Tournament Organizer (TO) Medals
By [player]Lindax[/player]

Clans: As you may have noticed the Clan Tournament Department introduced a medal for people running a clan tournament as a token of appreciation. The medal was awarded retrospectively, to everybody who ever ran a clan tournament. We don’t have a clan contribution medal, so the medal awarded is the General Contribution Medal.

Would you like to earn one of those medals? All you need to do is organize and successfully complete a clan tournament. We’d like to see more clan tournaments, especially when they are a bit different and original. Here you will find useful info about organizing a clan tournament: Hosting a Clan Tournament

[spoiler=TO medal rules]Medal for Clan Tournament/Event Organizers:

Anybody who organizes and successfully completes a clan tournament or event will be awarded a General Contribution Medal, as long as the tournament/event follows the same guidelines/rules that apply to players to be eligible for a Clan Achievement Medal.

If an organizer is no longer able or willing to continue his/her tournament/event, the person who takes over and successfully completes it will be awarded the medal.

Assistants or co-hosts approved by the Clan Tournament Director will generally also be eligible for the medal.

The CD-Team reserves the right to make exceptions (withhold or approve medals) at their discretion.[/spoiler]
If you would like to organize a clan tournament, please contact the Clan Tournament Director, [player]Lindax[/player]. Don’t be afraid to be creative, we can allow more than you probably think!

CONQUEROR'S CUP VI
CC6: Quick Link
The most prestigious clan event of the year! The tournament started early January and the first round is in full swing. Although there are several games finished in the various wars, it's too early to tell you how things are going. The bracket is posted below.

CLAN LEAGUE VII
CL7: Quick Link
This edition of the Clan League also has some changes to the format. The most important one is the implementation of promotion/relegation between the two divisions. We have a Premier Division with 12 clans and a Second Division with 14 clans participating.

We're playing round 7 right now, round 8 is due Sunday, February 7. TOP, ATN and PACK are leading the Second Division, but TOP and PACK have a match to complete yet. In the Premier Division FALL and LHDD are leading the way, with S&M, TOFU and FOED contending for the 3rd position at the moment (after round 5).

Below you’ll see the latest results from the first 6 rounds and the standings after round 5 (not all matches and games have finished though).

Tribes Summary:
Tribes: Stand Together. Fight Alone.
Information Provided by [player]Lindax[/player]

We started 3 auto tournaments for Primitive Tribes, so far the “Conquerians” won 2 of those. New tournaments for Primitive Tribes now appear under the tournament tab and are no longer published in the Tribes forum. This way they are easier to find and join.

We also started 4 auto tournaments for Advanced Tribes and Clans. One is still ongoing, one was won by TNC, one by FALL, and TOFU recently won "Tribal Skirmish". There will be a new Poly tournament released soon!

INAUGURATION TOURNAMENT: TRIBES GO RANDOM!

This tournament consists of a combination of 1v1 and Poly auto tournaments and team games. We started with the group phase in November and the Poly games are still ongoing. The team games are almost completed, unfortunately not in time for a scores update this Platoon Report.

We have 12 participating tribes, including the first Advanced Tribe: “By-Tor and the Snow Dogs” [BYT]. Below the list of participants.

Clan Merger Guidelines
When two clans consider joining forces, beyond the normal negotiations they will need to decide what terms for continuing they will operate under. There are two options, which are covered below.

[spoiler=Clan Merger Guidelines]Re-branding - in general, this is where one clan ceases to operate by disbanding and some / all of those members join another clan. This is done under existing forum, user group, and forum rules already in place. It may involve changing the remaining clans name as a "re-branding" effort, but this is not required.
1) Notify Clan Team Leader ([player]IcePack[/player]) of your intentions to merge via the re-branding method. This will start the process, and allow the CD's to review the specific timing and implications to any clan events (this will be done in coordination with the TO of the event and [player]Lindax[/player], the Clan Tournament Director)
2) A clan can change its name upon request, once its ready.
3) The disbanding clan can choose to keep their existing forum area as a social user group, or whether to disband it completely.
4) If transferring to a social user group, make sure you notify the CD's. An e-ticket will need to be filed to transfer the clan forum to a social user group.
5) If disbanding, players can choose to leave a clan at will.
6) A clan can add any players not currently part of another competitive clan.
7) Once all the players have left, contact the CD's who will finalize the disbanding of the old existing clan in the clan database and rankings.
8 ) All players will need to complete any games for the disbanded clan before being able to participate in new games for the new clan.
9) Implications and affects to the ongoing clan events will be applied that were discussed in step 1.

Merger - This is where two clans properly merge, and both go social or cease to exist while concurrently creating a new clan joined by both groups members. This new membership can be some of all of both previously existing clans. They will create a new forum, a new name, and start back at the default 1000 rating as a new clan.
1) Notify Clan Team Leader ([player]IcePack[/player]) of your intentions to conduct a proper merger.
2) The Clan Directors will discuss & coordinate with the clan leaders how best to handle the timing in regards to any ongoing clan tournaments / events.
3) Both existing clans will need to decide to go social or cease operations completely.
4) If either or both choose to go social, the CD's will coordinate with admin for you thru an e-ticket to transfer the forum(s) to a social user group.
5) If disbanding, the Clan Directors and Admins will coordinate the removal of the clans from forum and other parts of the clan area, including archiving recruitment areas etc.
6) The new clan will be created with the new name and players can join the new clan at their leisure.[/spoiler]

CLAN AREA RANKINGS:
[Warning this is a large spoiler]
[spoiler=Clan Area Rankings]2 Year F400: The most recognized and accepted Clan Ranking System includes almost all wars and leagues, with very rare exceptions (based on format and games played).

1 Year F400: This ranking highlights Clans for their achievements within the past 12 months specifically, allowing Clans to rise and fall much more quickly. This ranking gives Clans a better idea of where a Clan is today, rather then were they are overall.

Each issue the Clan Department plans to highlight a clan (based on current events, clan wars, or public demand) and a player by interviewing clan leaders and players! We will announce who is to be interviewed here, and you can post all your questions in this thread to be answered in the next issue! We will provide some information on the highlighted clans such as recent or historical achievements, as well as linking readers to their Clan Page so past history, recruitment, and member details will be easily accessible. You'll get the opportunity to ask the Clan's members or leadership any questions, and get to know the group as a whole on a deeper level while the Clans that are highlighted will enjoy some additional exposure and get a chance to introduce themselves to the Clan World in a new, unique way that is difficult to replicate in a recruitment thread.

Clan Highlight
Next month the Clan Department will be interviewing the Fraternal Order of Exceptional Drinkers! Pour yourself a drink and post any questions for the recent winners of the 4th Annual Traditional 1vs1 Event!

Ask questions of their leaders, members, or just questions in general you'd like to hear the groups thoughts on! Please be sure to state whether you're asking someone specific, the leadership, a member, or the clan as a whole! Have fun and be creative! Is there life out there? First 5 people to post in the thread saying "yes to life" and asking FOED a question for the interrogation will earn 50 credits simply for posting.

The April Clan to be highlighted will be selected by you, our readers! There is a post on Conquer Clubs Facebook page asking for feedback from you which clan you'd like to hear from! The clan with the most posts by February 29th will get highlighted in the April issue!
Find out more HERE.

This month the Clan Department sat down with the Fallen to get to know a little about them, their history, reactions to winning the CCup 5 and more! Check it out below!

[Warning this is a large spoiler]
[spoiler=the Fallen Questionnaire]The Clan Department recently sat down with a few members of the Fallen Clan, to hear a little from them regarding the recent CC5 win, CC6, CL7, and just about the clan and clan history in general. Welcome IcePack, stealth99, GoranZ, t4mcr53s2, and agentcom!

IcePack: Thanks, we are glad to be hear today!

Great, lets get started! The Fallen started way back in June, 2012. Back then you said you were "a small, active, friendly group of experienced players who are seeking to create havoc within CC's Clan Top 10." How confident were you that your clan would make the Top 10?

agentcom: I wasn't there from the very beginning, but I joined shortly after the clan had formed. The vibe among the leadership at that time was definitely that this would become a top 10 clan. It was a goal from the start, and that is part of what drew me to the clan. The skill level was obviously there, and I don't think it came as a surprise to many--definitely not me or others inside the clan--when we broke into the top 10.

GoranZ: Top 10 clan was the initial goal for the clan, so we knew we had to work properly to achieve it.

IcePack: Yeah, we definitely had our sights set on the Top 10. There was some amount of doubt when we announced about our Top 10 abilities, which just pushed us even harder and made ChapCrap and I focus even more. We were pretty confident about the Top 10, but the competition would definitely be tough getting there. We might be a little "bigger" then we originally imagined, but we have some good friends in the clan that don't play much anymore as well.

Can you describe how the Fallen got started, where did the players come from, and what was the focus of the group back then? What has changed now that you have been around for a few years?

GoranZ: Fallen started when the upper limits of KOA were achieved. In order to advance some changes were needed and when those weren't made the idea of Fallen was born. The needed changes were made in Fallen. Outcome is obvious.

IcePack: (laughing) It honestly seems like ages ago. Ancient history. ChapCrap and happyfeet had just left KOA to go fight with Empire. As GoranZ said, there were some serious issues that required some changes in KOA. Once we realized we couldn't do that within KOA, ChapCrap, happyfeet and I started discussing starting a new clan. We wanted to be more competitive, but we weren't sure how it would work out. A solid core of guys came from KOA, we had a few come from MM and another handful that came with no clan backgrounds. Back then our focus was building a good foundation, finding the right players, teaching and training those who needed it. Nowadays its about focusing on specific events or wars, continuing strong play, communication and keeping extensive data of our war history and player achievements.

ChapCrap and IcePack were probably the two most visible personalities in the clan forums back then. Who would you say has taken a lead role now that ChapCrap is no longer playing?

t4mcr53s2: ...ChapCrap hasn't been playing? hadn't noticed. (lol)

agentcom: Obviously, IcePack has continued and increased his leadership role. Nolefan5311, aad0906, tbayjosh, and stealth are all guys that have planned wars and been involved in more "formal" leadership and planning roles. Behind the scenes, all 4 of the guys above as well as GoranZ and rousseau72 and some others contribute a lot to Skype convo's about strategy and making sure that we don't have any missed turns.

stealth99: I arrived at Fallen during this transition. ChapCrap was just here a couple of weeks after I came to Fallen. From then to now, we've always had 2-3 guys who assist Ice in leading this clan (including Yours Truly). Those names have changed over the months, but the one thing that remains constant is IcePack himself. Furthermore, it's important to note, that IcePack is an incredibly devoted 24/7 leader of this clan. He does not choose to play games unless there is a specific need, opting instead, to place his full focus on simply leading our clan (in addition to his other roles at CC). There has never been a close 2nd to IcePack in terms of leadership, since Chap left.

GoranZ: As stealth99 and agentcom said, Ice is currently holding the key role in leading the clan with help of few other members.

IcePack: ChapCrap was such a girl. :-$

Describe what its like to be part of the Fallen, what is the clan chat or forums like behind the scenes?

stealth99: I've only ever been in one clan and there won't be a second. I consider Fallen to be perfect. We operate like a family, with much respect for each other. The one exception, is that we don't have the typical infighting that occurs in most families. I could make an entry right now on our Skype thread, that I need sitting for a week immediately, and my account would not miss a turn. We know each other personally and there is often an active interest in each others' lives.

GoranZ: In the beginning Fallen forum was quite active, but recently the activity has dropped in favor of faster means of communication. If the clan members need to be on the same page the forum is still used.

t4mcr53s2: Even though its gotten slower, that the forum still serves as a great learning tool with recorded discussions of strategy and d tactics that should help less experienced new members.

IcePack: Yeah, lots of good stuff available still on the forum. But GoranZ is right, our clan currently centers around very active Skype and PM use, as well as text messaging / WhatsApp for some of us who can't get enough chatting throughout the day.

the Fallen recently won the CC5 Event, can you tell us a little about that experience?

GoranZ: Winning CC5 demanded higher level of cooperation within the clan and changes to remove the weaknesses the clan has. I can say that we done what was needed along the way.

IcePack: Oh man. Ever since I joined KOA back in the day the CCup event had caught my eye and was something I really wanted to compete in. We never really had much success there until recently, the experience was so much fun! I actually prefer the planning, research, and strategy parts more then the games themselves so this was really up my alley. This was my second attempt at running the event for the clan, after a disappointing war vs ATL in CC4. Some of the wars this year were so nerve wracking I probably drank more during those three close wars then the rest of the year combined! The stress, headaches, and constantly checking new game updates a few times a day definitely got the better of me late in the event. :) But again, it was probably the most fun I had on CC since I started.

What was the feelings in the clan when you first saw the CC5 Bracket? Who were some of your expected opponents, and what was the clans overall feelings about your chances?

agentcom: I believe the immediate impression was that we drew a very, very difficult bracket.

GoranZ: I think that our initial hopes were from semifinal to a final, but not the title.

IcePack: We had a pretty good idea ACE was going to be the first big war. I know I was pretty nervous, they seemed to be on a roll. The next opponent was a lot harder to predict, but LHDD really started gaining steam and of course anytime you have the finals vs a clan like KORT or TOFU you know its going to be tough.

What were some of the challenges you overcame as a group during the event? Personally?

stealth99: We had to take up a collection of Xanax for IcePack, to calm his nerves enough to get through each of those close ones. Skirting the International Laws to get them to him was difficult. We do have a good old Family Doctor in our group, but he was licensed in the wrong state so limited to consulting. For the last war, we went to our horse farmer in Australia, to get some real meds. IcePack was fairly quiet those last couple of weeks. For me personally? Giving up my Xanax was perhaps the biggest challenge.

IcePack: Hahaha the biggest challenge for the event was keeping to the plan. Personally there were so many times I felt like picking certain maps might have given a different edge, but sticking to my research methods and original plans and allowing the guys to fight it out really was difficult. Apparently I might have come across a little...off 8-[

the Fallen finished 32-9 vs VVV (Ranked 33rd), 34-27 vs RET (Ranked 12th), 31-30 vs ACE (Ranked 3rd), then 31-30 vs LHDD (Ranked 2nd), and then 31-29 vs TOFU (Ranked 1st) in order to get to the Cup. What war was the biggest surprise?

GoranZ: I think that all 3 wars (ACE, LHDD and TOFU) were equally difficult, the results are showing that.

What war out of the three that were extremely close, did you feel was the most difficult to get the last win?

IcePack: As I said, the ACE war was really our biggest challenge to date. Beating the 3rd Ranked Clan seemed like a dream when we started. Once we accomplished that, we realized we had a real shot at the crown and redoubled our efforts. LHDD was a great challenge, but that last war win vs TOFU seemed to drag on F-O-R-E-V-E-R!

If you had to redo one war, which would it be and why?

IcePack: (Groans) Please don't make me...my heart can't take it!

Why did the Fallen select IcePack for the CC5 MVP Award?

GoranZ: He won the MVP for the overall organization and contribution in the whole event.

agentcom: Ice is the leader of this clan. You all see how much he does in the Clan world in general. He puts in twice the effort to our clan. He meticulously plans wars, keeps detailed records, communicates individually with everyone through PMs, Skype and texts, scouts potential recruits, and pretty much keeps track of everything and everyone in the clan. For CC5, especially in the later rounds, he seemed to redouble his already vigorous efforts. Because he doesn't take on a lot of actual games, it's not necessarily obvious to everyone outside the clan how much of the clan's accomplishments have to be attributed to him. Inside the clan, though, there's no question at all. I think the MVP award vote was unanimous or nearly so. There's no one in our clan that deserves more credit for the CC5 win.

stealth99: As mentioned above, IcePack is a leader who is 100% devoted to simply leading Fallen. He places zero emphasis on his game skills. He can play, don't get me wrong, but he is not well practiced and no longer spends time working on specific maps to 'specialize'. He's often used as a "fill in" for various reasons. For these reasons, IcePack's win rate is not ever expected to be high. Yet for this event, he rocked it! I think most all of us felt that this clan win was the culmination of several years effort. Without any doubt, the MVP of that effort was and is IcePack. But when you factor in his win rate for this thing, it was a no-brainer for us.

t4mcr53s2: Ice is the Man; he's everywhere. Covering turns at 3 am, recruiter extraordinaire, mentor, and cheer leader. He encourages us to form teams find partners, develop maps. He is also a darn good player who's rank is more a reflection of helping others develop. Plus he brought the donuts.

IcePack: I sure as hell didn't vote for myself. Anyone can plan a war (just look at me!), but it takes troops on the ground to develop plans, execute them and (with a little luck) win the games to get us there. I'm not out there, winning the games very often. I tried to veto myself from the voting list, but the guys just veto'd my veto. Either way, its an honor and I appreciate all the recognition and thoughts. Special shout out to the MVP Runner Up for the Event Triple 6 who equally rocked the war, and everyone else who participated. It truly was a huge team effort on our part!

Have you ever had any group meetings of the Fallen players?

t4mcr53s2: ....there seems to be a one each year from San Franciso to Tokyo

agentcom: Unfortunately, we're so spread out geographically that this hasn't happened much despite our best efforts. I grew up a few hours away from where Icepack lives, so we've tried to meet up a couple times when I'm back home, but it hasn't worked out. Nonetheless, we were able to get a few of us together in Kansas City a couple summers ago. Icepack and I visited (former members and friends-in-RL) chapcrap and happyfeet in their hometown. It was a blast--and pretty much the nerdfest you might expect from a bunch of players who met on CC. We mostly played a bunch of board games, chap also took us out to the favorite local restaurants, and we played a round of disc golf.

IcePack: I've been lucky enough to meet several of our guys in person. I had a "quick coffee" that turned into a 6 hour lunch with rousseau72, which was extremely interesting to get to know the one I teamed up with so many times. As agentcom pointed out, we've had another in Kansas City that I was able to participate in. Games from morning til night, with a bunch of great guys and a very, very understanding wife of ChapCrap who didn't know we were coming until the day before. There have been a few other "near misses", but we have another being discussed for this year in Chicago it sounds like there's a good chance some new guys will try to make it as well as a few already met!

GoranZ: So far not, but eventually we will have European meeting :D

Can you tell us, what are some of the reasons you enjoy being in the Fallen?

t4mcr53s2: .....The forum and chatting and partners have hugely improved my game. Made some good friends. The expectation is we will bring out the best in each other; give and take and strategy disagreements have ALWAYS been respectful, and while I've been respectfully asked why I made a blunder, mutual appreciation is generally rampant

GoranZ: Great cooperation, friendly teammates, etc

IcePack: For me personally, above and beyond the games, wars, strategy and fun my biggest reason for staying within the Fallen and spending my time here has been the great friendships that have formed over the years. I can't say it enough, that these guys are truly the best.

Tell us one thing about the Fallen that someone might be surprised to know.

t4mcr53s2: There have been 2 occasions when teammates have had significant family illness/crises, where the majority of the clan organized some meaningful financial and emotional support.

stealth99: the Fallen is as close to a family as one would expect to find, in the online community. Some of our newest members do not know about this bit of our history. Two years ago my dad had a stroke while traveling and ended up with an extended hospital stay, several hours from our home. We lived in the same city and my mother who is disabled, was totally dependent on my father. My life drastically changed. I ended up having to leave town unexpectedly and stay in hotel for his extended hospital stay. I don't know how Fallen knew the difficulty this presented for me and my family, but it was only a couple of weeks into this event when I received a greeting card with several hundred dollars enclosed. Fallen took up a collection for me. I was only in the clan a couple of months and knew less than 25%; none well.

IcePack: We almost were named Gnomeland Security, but ChapCrap was a girl and wouldn't go along with the plan.

GoranZ: We will get CL7 and CC6 this year :P

How do you feel about your chances for CC6, any chance for a repeat?

stealth99: Of course there is a chance, but there are a lot of awesome clans out there. We just barely got through three of these wars, so our odds of repeating have to be quite low. Comparatively speaking, our chance of winning is as good as any other clan. Really, it doesn't matter; the fun comes from simply trying and there is a 100% chance that will occur.

t4mcr53s2: ......winning 3 matches by 1 victory so obviously could have lost any of them , but we think we are still improving , and increasing the number of maps and settings where we will be competitive; so we will be better than last year , but a repeat will require some good fortune with dice , or our and opponents choice of maps

GoranZ: Chances for another CC crown are high.

IcePack: The bracket for CC6 looks tough, and as history has shown its pretty difficult to repeat. But one thing is for sure, we will be there and giving 100%!

CL7 just got back from its winter break, how are you doing there?

GoranZ: We started bellow average, but we corrected along the way. Second part will be interesting tho.

IcePack: I haven't honestly looked at the results yet, I know GoranZ has been following here and there. It sounds like we're doing alright, there will be a renewed focus in the new year as most of our difficult matches are in the latter half of the event.

How does the Fallen work? For wars, recruitment, events - does the clan hold a vote for everything?
t4mcr53s2: .........Clan wide surveys happen for many things , votes are usually offered for recruitment , and I think close decisions sometimes get settled by prolonged discussion by leadership and those with additional experience on those issues , with discussions on Skype... The most popular votes have been about speculations regarding ChapCrap's personal life. :D

GoranZ: Generally the decisions are made by voting, which is making the clan little bit inert(especially during recruitment), but in return we get quality filtering of ideas, future members.

IcePack: We've always tried to emphasize everyone getting a voice. We don't necessarily always hold a vote for everything, but before any major decisions are made I definitely try to get a feel of others opinions before moving forward. During recruitment, we like doing try out games with most so that everyone in the clan can get a feel for who they are as well as filling out a questionnaire. We want to get to know the person, just as much as we want to know how or what they play.

There always seems to be a surprise breakout or resurgence each year in the clan world. What is one clan you feel is one to watch in 2016?

GoranZ: There are few clans that make a surprise, but I doubt some will repeat what we did in CC5.

IcePack: I think you might see a little resurgence of some clans that have fallen away a little bit, plus continued success from clans like LHDD and FALL. I don't think we will see a "new" CCup winner again like with FALL, but that's the thing about surprise breakouts...you never know!

Thanks for all the insights and answers to the questions, we hope you guys had as much fun answering as we had hearing what you had to say![/spoiler]

As you may have noticed the Clan Tournament Department introduced a medal for people running a clan tournament ... We don’t have a clan contribution medal, so the medal awarded is the General Contribution Medal.

I introduced a new species ... I dont have a new species, so I had a human child !!

Is [player]lackattack[/player] and his once-a-decade coding back?
