Gubaretto has missed 1 or possibly 2 invites. I've been pretty busy this week so I'm not certain. Re-sending just in case.

He's deadbeated all his games in an Assassin Masters auto-tournament. He missed his first two turns, came back for a round and then deadbeated. I'd remove him.

Yup, that was the next step.

Gubaretto is removed, sjemba is conscripted to an extra week 17 game to fill the vacancy.

Re: Salient Assassinations in History II [TPA5 Prem][Week 18

Post by Dukasaur »

Week 18 games have been created and invitations sent.

This is the last scheduled round.

However, I've come up with an idea that I think will increase the overall fairness of this tournament. We've only used about 60% of the reserve list, which means that a lot of people have 19 games but about 40% only have 18. I'm thinking I could add an extra game, only for those who are at the bottom of the reserve list and haven't been called. Those 20 or 21 individuals would get one more game, Random map sunny escalating, so that they too have 19 game and therefore 19 chances to win.

I realize that this is a last-minute change to the published rules, and the general impulse is not to change the rules once a tourney has started, but my feeling has always been that if a rule change is fair and can both
  • improve the overall experience, and
  • do so without any great disruption
then it's okay. If there is strong opposition I won't go through with this, but if most people either agree or don't care then I will.

Guess I didn't read the fine print and just assumed the extra games weren't counting for the extra player.

letting everyone play the same # of games is much fair so sure, let's do it.

Bearshark3 has missed 3 consecutive invites and is removed.

TIn Trumpet is conscripted to fill the void.

I did not foresee a tie, and no tiebreak criteria were posted. Do the three of you agree to a special round of 3-player Assassin games?

overlander wrote:sure

jonofperu wrote::lol:
That's awesome! And kinda sucks too...
I guess that would be fair. OK with me.

Swifte wrote:Wouldn't be my first choice (3p games are the worst!) but sounds like the most reasonable tie-breaker given the situation.

I agree that 3-p games are often horrible, but 3-p assassin is not quite as annoying as 3-p standard...:)

Anyway, for these games I have selected those rounds that none of the three won, and none of the three were killed on, during the regular season.
  1. Sennacherib
  2. Rasputin
  3. Zapata and Villa
  4. Ghandi
  5. MLK
  6. Anwar Sadat
  7. bonus game

Tiebreak games have been created and invitations sent. The spoils in each game are the same as they were in the regular season. The order of play was randomized separately for each game.
