Nomophobia: The Four Stages Of Smartphone Separation Anxiety
If you were told you couldn't look at your smartphone for the next two hours, would that be a problem?
Two hours seems minimal, doesn't it? But not being able to Google anything, call anyone, check for messages, reply on Whatsapp, check your calendar or locate your way to a meeting, has the potential to leave us feeling anxious.
2h seems fine... I still have a 4s and the batery is a real piece of shit. if I don't charge it 3 times a day it never makes it. so I've been without phone technically for more than 2h many times.
me? you're joking. i have a 4/5 year old samsung something. it doesnt even have a data package any more. *veritable hermit*
if you want to use the internet you use a goddamn computer in my book. not to sound like a crotchety old bastard but seeing people walking down a street glued to a phone and walking into shit really grinds my gears. likewise people who cant go to anywhere with more than one tree without whapping out their i phone for selfie-frenzy time. f*ck that shit

had i been wise, i would have seen that her simplicity cost her a fortune
I consolidated everything to my (windows) phone.....used to have home line, personal land line and 3 business lines.....all into my cell now. Also my email / etc is avail tere so if I am away from the shop, I am LOST without my phone. If I run to the store and forget it, I seriously have withdrawl anxiety.....stupid but true.....DO NOT want to miss orders / calls from customers / or from my kids if they need me.....could give a squirt of piss about anything else
What pisses me off are those that just CANNOT put the fooking thing down for texting / facebag / that bullshit, even when driving or having a conversation....I've knocked phones out of peoples hands several times....sure gets a response
"Gypsy told my fortune...she said that nothin showed...."
My wife and I entertain a lot. The guests are from 20 to 70 or more in age. The 30-40 year olds look at their phones a lot, but the under 30 crowd are glued to them. If you are a guest in my home please put down your phone so we may converse with you and see your face.
Apparently half the people present at notyou2's sex parties feel it would be more fun to play on their phones than to participate in the gang banging. Trust a Canadian to make an orgy boring.
AOG. Just screams "look at me take a selfie at someone else's birthday party!" or "I'm gonna record this whole concert on my smartphone to watch later, rather than just enjoy it the actual concert itself" and especially "lol, saxi posted how he would bang me in the cornho-*WHAM*" and walks right into a signpost.
To pick up girls at the bar, I just show them my phone - it's a perfect conversation starter since it's older than most of the girls I'm trying to pick up.

Since I am mentioned in the poll, I will just observe that I rely on computers as the source of my livelihood, and two hours without access to the internet is two hours of lost ability to continue my research. However, there are so many things that I enjoy doing -- most importantly reading and also playing music -- that a day without my phone really wouldn't bother me. I love the convenience that it presents, though, and the ability to have instant access to information -- I would be sad to lose it forever.
