Post by DoomYoshi »

Netherlands Antilles
Concise description:
  • It's not a real country, by any measure
  • It should be removed and the countries of Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten should replace it

Specifics/Details:
  • A country listed in the scoreboard
  • it used to be am autonomous country in the Kingdom of the Netherlands
  • This country was dissolved in 2010
  • Aruba became its own autonomous country already in 1986, way before lackattack downloaded the list of countries
  • Curacao and Sint Maarten are now their own constituent countries
  • The other islands are now part of Netherlands proper

South Sudan
Concise description:
The world's newest country should be on the list of countries

Specifics/Details:
In 2011, South Sudan became it's own country, and a UN member state.

Libyan Arab Jamahiriya
Concise description:
It is now called Libya and the flag has changed.

Specifics/Details:
In 2011-2012 the Gaddafi government was toppled and a new one installed. This changed the name of the country to Libya (or State of Libya), which is what many were already calling it.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Conquer Club diplomatic relations will improve

I already suggested South Sudan be added to the list. mrswdk is such a nerd for reading the list of countries.

Wait when did Sint-Maarten become indipendent? They are still part of the Netherlands as far as I know, just with a special status, like Hong-Kong in China.

The Kingdom of the Netherlands is comprised of 4 countries: Netherlands, Sint Maarten, Aruba and Curacao. Here is some further reading for you:
http://www.government.nl/issues/caribbe ... bbean.html

Basically, the former Net. Ant. had several referendums. 2 countries decided on independence and the rest wanted to stay bumbuddies with you.

EDIT: It is similar to Hong Kong, but only things like the military (including alliances), nationality and such are decided by the main gov't. All internal affairs are independent, unlike HK, which has protests that Aruba has more freedom.
