Research Wars 1 !!! [COMPLETED]
Hello all!!!
Research Wars!
Join a research tournament that will explore personality and gaming and provide great prizes for people 18 years and older. Research Wars Tournaments are sanctioned by ConquerClub.
This will be a series of sixteen tournaments over the course of the summer. Each player can only participate in one tournament, due to the nature of the study. Winning is not required for two of the three prizes allocated to each tournament, and each person who signs up and completes the survey automatically receives 250 Credits regardless of winning or losing.
1. Complete an online survey (it takes about 10 minutes)
2. Play a ConquerClub tournament with 7 other players.
Format: 1v1, Classic, Sunny, Flat, 30 rounds, Auto, 1st round: Round Robin. 2nd and 3rd: Random draw, winners advance.
Prizes:
- 250 Conquer Credits just for completing the survey - So far 67 players have been awarded this. The remainder who have signed up but have yet to receive their points, it is on the way!
- chance to win 1000 Conquer Credits (one winner per tournament) each time
you complete a game and leave ratings and tags for your opponent. PLEASE REMEMBER: Leave a rating and tag the player to enter your name in the draw. You can have multiple entries per tournament simply by leaving a rating and tags for each opponent!! Don't miss out on the chance to get another 1000 Credits!!
- compete for a 2500 Conquer Credits (the winner of each tournament)
This study has been approved by Saint Mary’s University Research Ethics Board (#15-171).

Re: Research Wars!!! 1v1 [0/8]
Doesn't a valid 1v1 tournament on CC require 16 players?

That's not the rule..
You will need to keep in mind several minimum requirements that must be observed in order for your tournament to be considered a public tournament. (Effective 04.12.10)
◦All tournaments must have at least the following amount of participants:
◾1v1 and Singles Tournaments: 16 players
◾Team Tournaments: 8 teams (no more than 12 players per team; Added June 16, 2011)
Re: Research Wars!!! 1v1 [4/8]
1. Will all of the tournaments follow the same format (i.e. be 1v1)? And:
2. Can we do as [player]macbone[/player] indicated and take the survey now but register for a later tounament if we're too busy right now?

Due to the nature of the study, I believe this is getting a pass. She had to get this cleared through the admins to make it happen so I think they are cool with it....?

Yes to both questions!
Please do the survey whenever you wish and watch for future surveys or PM me when you want in... (dibbylibby). And they will all be the same format. We aim to learn somethings about personality and competition that might help players become better at this and other games... looking forward to posting the results of the study on CC site.
